Job description
  • Are you a self-starter, organised and ambitious, interested in supporting young women that are experiencing extreme exploitation and risk? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

We are looking for a Sales Officer to join our team to take on the day-to-day responsibility for securing training commissions and helping to meet sales targets. You will work alongside our Head of Income Generation and Sustainability, as well as young women, to model and pilot new income generation ideas. It is a new post, so there will be many opportunities to make the role your own. Perhaps you have previously sold training courses for a not-for-profit organisation, or are taking your first step into the not-for-profit sector, but have a strong track record in meeting sales targets in the commercial sector.

Abianda is an award winning not-for-profit social enterprise that works with young women and girls affected by gangs and county lines so they can be free from harm and abuse. We are a growing team of about 16 staff and are seeking an enthusiastic individual with experience in sales to join our income generation team.

The main focus of this role is to drive the scale-up of our successful training delivery. Along with the Head of Income Generation and Sustainability, you will also innovate new social enterprises to generate unrestricted income. Options may include: growing our consultancy arm, school programmes, managing a creative space for young people which generates income through bookings from other organisations, etc.

Salary is £28,000 PA, plus contribution to a pension and 28 days holiday a year

This is a full-time role on a fixed-term contract of two years, with the hope of extending it subject to financial targets being met. We would consider a 4 or 4.5 day part-time contract if you’d prefer.

You will be expected to work from the Abianda office one or two days a week, some working from home and flexible working provisions can be arranged.

If you'd like to read more about the role, please download the role description which includes a full job description and person specification.

To apply please send your CV and cover letter detailing how you meet the person specification. Please also download and complete our equal opportunities form (although this is optional).

The deadline for completed applications is 11.59pm, Sunday 5th December
Early applications are encouraged as we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis.

We hope to hold interviews before the end of year break.

Please note

  • Abianda is a women’s only employer, and as such this position is exempt under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

  • We particularly welcome applications from people with disabilities, Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, LGBTQ+ and from different socio-economic and educational backgrounds.

  • We welcome applications from people from all walks of life, including those who may have had exposure to similar experiences that young women across London are facing.
