Job description

Our partner is a leading human rights organisation. They are seeking an interim systems accountant to see them through the last phase of finance systems strengthening that they have been undertaking. This role will have two elements to it – leading in streamlining and improving their financial systems, and strengthening the finance business partnering function.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on finance systems strengthening, including developing management information provision by improving the linkages and flow of information between their existing system to Excel, and streamlining processes to improve efficiencies.
  • Strengthening the business partnering function specifically around information and analysis department heads receive on the financial performance of donor funded projects.

Requirements

  • Qualified or QBE accountant with a strong demonstrable background in strengthening financial systems; excellent knowledge of a financial systems and advanced MSExcel skills are essential.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the compliance requirements of large donors including the Home Office and FCDO, USAID and UN Agencies.
  • Demonstrable business partnering experience, able to communicate financial information effectively to finance and non-finance staff and successfully influence a range of internal stakeholders.

This is a 6 month contract, at the moment due to government restrictions the role will home-based, however, once restrictions are lifted, there will be an expectation for the individual to be based in their office in London.
