Job description

Permanent 3 days /21 hours per week  

We are seeking a highly skilled communications professional to join our team as Communications Manager, at an exciting time, as Acme approaches its 50th anniversary and looks to celebrate the value of the support we have provided over the past half-century. 

The Communications Manager will report to the Co-Director and will manage Acme’s communication and public relations strategy and activity.   They will work collaboratively across the whole organisation to support the timely and effective delivery of regular and ad-hoc communications and marketing projects, as well as identifying future opportunities.  

The Communications Manager will have a proven track record of delivering integrated campaigns, including press and media coverage. They will need to have proven experience of planning and managing multiple projects and work with others in the organisation to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This is a standalone specialist role, working in proximity to Acme’s Artist Support, Research and Archive functions.  

You will have the following:  

  • Proven experience in communications, marketing or PR. 

  • Experience of devising multi-channel media including social media / PR campaigns which achieve positive coverage.  

  • Experience of managing website CMS, e-newsletter systems and form building platforms. 

  • Excellent MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Indesign) skills. 

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with colleagues across a range of skills and expertise, and to communicate effectively at senior level. 

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Supporting artists since 1972, Acme is a charity based in London which provides affordable studios, work/live space, and a programme of artist support. Acme is the single largest provider of affordable artist studios in England, and this year will support over 800 individual artists across 16 buildings in Greater London.
