Action Aid
Farringdon, Greater London (On-site)
£49,277 - £50,769 per year
Permanent, Full-time
Job description

Salary: £49,277 - £50,769

Permanent - Full time - 35 hours per week

Closing date: 28th July 2022

ActionAid UK is a member of the ActionAid Federation, an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty.

As part of the ActionAid Federation, we work with women and girls, our partners, and dedicated staff in 43 countries to end violence and fight poverty so that all women, everywhere, can create the future they want.

The Philanthropy & Partnerships team are looking for their next Head of Trusts & New Markets to lead a team of six raising funds from the UK, Lichtenstein, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Gulf. Whilst the role is principally responsible for partnerships with trusts and foundations, fundraising in the global markets spans all high-value fundraising streams. Therefore, knowledge of high value fundraising principles generally will be important, even if direct experience of all income streams isn’t necessary.

The team annually raises almost £5m from highly engaged long-term supporters, but there is still significant opportunity for growth, particularly in the new markets. The team is well established with exceptional fundraisers who can be relied upon to deliver business as usual whilst pushing forward the longer-term ambition. The role also sits within the Heads leadership group, working with Heads of Corporate, Philanthropy, and Strategic Funding and Insight to support the Deputy Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships to deliver the wider team strategy.

ActionAid UK is going through a period of transition, reflecting on our role in the wider federation and how we can continue to grow our impact whilst decolonising our work, especially fundraising. This is therefore an exciting time to join the organisation, as the Head of Trusts & New Markets will be at the forefront of these discussions and have the opportunity to shape what the future of high value fundraising looks like. This role would therefore be perfect for someone who is able to lead a high-performing team, who has a growth mindset, and who thrives on questioning the status quo.

ActionAid is committed to driving improvement through digital channels, tools and ways of working.  We will ensure that we provide the technology and the training to enable all staff to perform their roles to the best of their abilities. In return, we ask that all staff are committed to continually improving their digital skills and knowledge within the working environment. Our recruitment processes will evaluate the digital skills of all applicants.

ActionAid is committed to supporting flexible working. If you would like to discuss flexible working options, including the possibility of a job share for this role, there will be space to do so during the interview process.

We are committed to continually improving the diversity of our workforce and therefore encourage applications from people of colour, the LGBTQI+ community, the trans community, and those with a disability.
