ActionAid UK is looking for a Senior Advocacy Manager to join a talented team. We are seeking a passionate advocate who combines an excellent understanding of women’s rights in both international development and humanitarian arenas with experience of working in Westminster and Whitehall. You will bring your detailed knowledge of the UK political system and a track record of successful political and policy influencing to support the delivery of ActionAid UK’s strategy ‘Together with women and girls
The Senior Advocacy Manager works in collaboration with fundraising, research, policy, campaigns and media colleagues across ActionAid UK and the international federation to develop and deliver influencing strategies to advance women’s rights. You will monitor the political environment, build and strengthen AAUK’s relationship with political stakeholders and contribute to AAUK’s political positioning and strategy. You will ensure that ActionAid UK’s political positioning, advocacy messages and policy reports are clear, coherent and have a strong likelihood of achieving success.
This is a demanding, complex and rewarding role, requiring skills to manage across multiple workstreams in a complex environment and a commitment to learning. You are capable of innovating and shaping debates, have a proven ability to influence and persuade and possess excellent all-round communication skills. Experience of women’s economic rights, climate finance and/or trade would be an advantage.
