Job description

The role

Our vision is that every child and young person in the country has a safe and happy childhood and the foundations they need to thrive. We protect and support children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and support, ensuring their voices are heard, and campaigning to bring lasting improvements to their lives. In 2019/2020 we helped more than 387,000 children and families across the UK. 

We are looking for a New Business Manager to build relationships with organisations that will result in long-term, high-value partnerships that raise both significant income and brand visibility for Action for Children.

You will make a difference by:

-Developing excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in order to drive positive outcomes for the Partnership Development team

-Identifying potential partnerships across all industries, undertaking the research and qualification of strategic opportunities

-Creating top-quality proposals and pitches tailored to the opportunity

-Leading on the full sales cycle concerning prospect approaches, from identification and initial approach to ask and close

-Supporting more junior members of the team

You will need:

- Experience of building excellent relationships with high-level stakeholders, internally and externally

-To be tenacious, self-motivated and high achieving with a passion for new business

-The ability to think creatively and strategically when prospecting, using a solutions-focussed approach

- Two years’ worth of experience in securing partnerships involving a range of activity, including sales promotions and employee fundraising

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including inter-personal and presentation skills) to communicate propositions in a compelling and engaging way

-The willingness to work flexibly and travel the UK when necessary

-To be computer literate, including knowledge of MS Office packages and CRM databases
