Reporting to the Director, AFRIL's Administration and Monitoring Officer delivers the central administrative functions of the charity including office admin, financial records, projects and drafting fundraising communications. You will work closely with the Director and Project Leads to deliver and enhance our monitoring and evaluation systems and you will supervise office volunteers. We are a friendly team and there is real scope for growth in this role.
AFRIL is a small, dynamic, community based charity working with asylum seekers, vulnerable migrants, and refugee families in south east London. We support our service users to lift themselves out of poverty and rebuild their lives in the heart of our community. We provide both crisis support to meet immediate need, and longer-term, flexible programmes to tackle the underlying problems. Our work is grounded in the values of professionalism, inclusivity, and solidarity, and our approach to service delivery is one of co-production and empowerment.
AFRIL delivers three core services in the London Borough of Lewisham:
- The Helping Hands Foodbank Programme - weekly food parcels and baby supplies, together with a range of wellbeing activities such as [email protected] and our Allotment of Refuge;
- Rainbow Club Supplementary School, offering weekly supplementary education in English and Maths, arts, music and sports activities to children from refugee, migrant and asylum seeking backgrounds from early years to 11 years old;
- Advice and Advocacy Service, offering welfare benefits, housing and generalist advice, accredited by AQS. The Service also includes immigration advice and represention in partnership with Southwark Law Centre.

Terms and conditions:
Hours: 21 hours per week including Monday and Thursday.
Location: This post is based in AFRIL’s office at the Leemore Community Centre in central Lewisham with some home and flexible working arrangements in place.
