Action Medical Research is a UK-wide charity on a mission to save and change children’s lives through medical research, developing treatments, vaccinations and cures.

We’ve been funding medical breakthroughs since we began over 65 years ago and have helped to beat polio in the UK, fight meningitis, prevent stillbirths and develop ultrasound scanning in pregnancy.

But medical research for children is underfunded and we urgently need to develop more new treatments and cures. That’s why we need you to help in our fight for little lives.

Events fundraising is central to the success of our fundraising programme and currently includes our bike rides, running, team challenges and bespoke events for corporate partners. We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic event fundraiser to join our ambitious and busy events team.

The successful candidate will plan and deliver the marketing and recruitment for a range of events ensuring we meet and exceed income targets. You will deliver excellent participant communications, building relationships and inspiring participants to encourage their ongoing support. You will have proven fundraising experience, ideally in events, a good understanding of the events marketplace and excellent project planning, IT and time management skills.

As the role involves supporting a number of events during the event season, you must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends with occasional time spent away from home.

Applications by CV with a supporting statement showing how you meet the required skills and experience should be submitted by 24th November 2019. However you are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis and we will close the role before the closing date should a suitable applicant be found.

Benefits include 22 days annual leave plus additional closure days between Christmas and New Year and a Group Flexible Retirement Plan.
