Job description

We are recruiting for a Programme Quality and Assurance Manager on a fixed term contract basis, to cover a period of maternity leave.

ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are ending violence against women and girls and helping change lives, for good. We won’t stop until women and girls are out of danger, out of poverty and on track to create the future they want.

The Programme Quality and Assurance Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of large, complex international development grants and contracts to maximise the impact we have on the lives of women and girls.

We will look to you to provide leadership, expertise and assurance on institutional donor compliance, programme quality and robust evidence and learning related to the rights of women and girls.

We are looking for a strong people manager who will bring a broad knowledge of institutional donors, trends and polices, along with proven experience of successfully managing the start-up, implementation and closure of a range of large complex institutional grants and/or contracts.

To be successful as our Programme Quality and Assurance Manager, you must be able to demonstrate a high level of competency in managing relationships and negotiations with key donors and partners; along with the ability to build a rapport with a range of individuals.

You must have proven experience of successfully drawing evidence and learning from programming to inform research, policy, bid development, campaigns and communications.

If you have this experience, we are keen for you to join our team as we help ActionAid UK deliver on its 5-year Strategy- Together with women and girls.

Please note, this role is being offered as a 12.5 month Fixed Term Contract.

ActionAid is committed to driving improvement through digital channels, tools and ways of working.  We will ensure that we provide the technology and the training to enable all staff to perform their roles to the best of their abilities. In return, we ask that all staff are committed to continually improving their digital skills and knowledge within the working environment. Our recruitment processes will evaluate the digital skills of all applicants.

ActionAid is committed to supporting flexible working. If you would like to discuss flexible working options, including the possibility of a job share for this role, there will be space to do so during the interview process.
