Job description

We are a small, dynamic organisation that punches above its weight. As the national charity focused on family, drugs and alcohol we have a voice in the ongoing debate on this crucial issue touching tens of thousands of people in the UK, as well as in enabling essential day-to-day support.

We are seeking to employ a Projects and Communications Assistant to join a small, energetic and ambitious team, working within the Policy and Communications team to support the day-to-day work, contribute strongly to communications and policy work, organise and manage small events, and lead some discrete projects.

This is a stimulating and demanding role which offers variety and opportunities for exposure to a wide range of stakeholders and partners, including parliamentary, media and representatives from the children, families, and drugs/alcohol sectors.

It is ideal for someone with some experience in an office setting, ideally within the voluntary sector, who is looking for a varied role and lots of opportunities for development. The post-holder will have good communication skills, be adept in managing the priorities of a busy working environment, willing to learn, and have a commitment to supporting and empowering some of our most vulnerable citizens.

Salary range: £20,000 - 22,000pa

6.5% contributory pension scheme

Contract: Until September 2021

This post will be based at Adfam’s office in London WC1H, with some travel across England.
