Toynbee Hall is looking to appoint a new Finance Officer who will support the production of accurate, timely financial and management accounts, budgets and forecasts as well as regular financial analysis of projects. They will carry out posting of the accounts from order processing through to completion of the annual accounts, and assist with financial reporting and VAT as required.
We are looking for someone who is experienced in sales and purchase ledger and who has accounting ability and analytical skills. This post holder will work closely with our Finance Manager and Finance Assistant to ensure the smooth running of the Finance function. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain or develop their Finance skills in a varied role within the charity sector and who wants to contribute their ideas to help shape our finance processes.

Project and Finance Manager
The Hanns Seidel Foundation is a German publicly funded political foundation with its headquarters in Munich and offices around the world. The London office was established in 2019 and its main activities are international conferences, smaller panel-discussions/ roundtables, and high-level delegation visits primarily in the UK. The focus of the Foundation’s work is in key political areas such as bilateral UK-German relations and Europe, security and defence issues, the economy, and devolution/federalism where it often cooperates with renowned partner organisations. It also includes a range of networking activities with key stakeholders in politics, business, academia, and the media.
We are looking to hire a project and finance manager at the earliest possible date to work as an essential part of our small dynamic office who will support the UK director in carrying out projects&activities, running the London office and who will be responsible for accurate accounting presentable to both German and UK authorities. The post holder will work closely with the London director and coordinate with colleagues at the Foundation’s German HQ, and should speak at least basic German.
Key responsibilities will include:
Project and event management support
- Support UK director in planning, organising, and carrying out events, delegation visits by requesting quotes, researching venues, booking flights/transport/hotels etc. and receiving high level participants and visitors
- Maintaining contact management systems and monitoring and evaluation data, drafting reports, newsletters, and mailing lists
Office and Finance management
- Financial administration of projects and London office including budget planning in close coordination with the Foundation’s Headquarters in Munich
- Liaise with UK authorities, auditors, cooperation partners und legal counsel regarding finance, tax and legal matters
- Scan and file all relevant documents/receipts, carrying out regular data back-ups
- Assist director in administration of London office, incl. procurement of office supplies and liaising with external service providers
- Maintain London office inbox and liaise with Foundation’s headquarters regarding IT matters
Bookkeeping
- Collate, process & pay all invoices in a timely manner and manage the Foundation’s bank account
- Verify and collate receipts for the Foundation’s credit card expenditure and reconcile them with card statement
- Ensure accurate accounting for all events and activities, including checking receipts
- Bookkeeping in multi-currencies (GBP&Euro) in both UK accounting format and the foundation’s own accounts system (training will be provided)
- Prepare monthly and annual UK accounts up to trial balance, incl. accruals, prepayments, etc.
About you
- Relevant degree/qualification (Master or equivalent years of experience) in social sciences, finance management, business administration or similar
- 2-3 years of project/event/financial management experience primarily in the UK
- Native or near-native English skills, at least basic German (intermediate/advanced desirable)
- Excellent MS Office and Adobe Acrobat skills, proficient in Windows apps as well as proven experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero)
- Be familiar with current PAYE, pension regulations, HMRC, and Companies House.
- A great self-starter who is not afraid to take the initiative and to solve arising problems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small team, responding flexibly to changing demands of the role, and adapting quickly to new and complex systems and software
- Strong attention to detail, carrying out tasks diligently to ensure accurate accounting

- Prepared to undertake short work trips to Europe once or twice a year

The Finance and Operations Manager is a key member of Tara Theatre’s team, overseeing the company operations and financial processes. They work alongside a Freelance Finance Director and the Executive Director.
Tara Theatre is a company limited by guarantee, and a charity. It has two trading subsidiaries, Tara Productions and Tara Enterprises. We currently have an annual turnover of circa £1 million.

About the Role
Humanists International has another separate entity based in the US. This role will be a part of the UK operations team but will collaborate with the US finance team occasionally when it’s required, for example, during the audit period. Both UK and US finance teams are managed by the same Director of Finance and Operations who is based in London.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide excellent finance and administrative support to the small, predominantly home-based team. We’re seeking someone who is personable, highly organised, has attention to detail and is keen to take initiative and learn new skills. Onboarding training will be provided, but we would like you to demonstrate transferable skills.
You will work on a wide variety of tasks which will include bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, being the first point of contact for the organisation, as well as providing general administrative support to the team. Board meetings normally take 3 hours and investment committee meetings take 45 minutes. These meetings are usually planned 6-8 months in advance. TOILs will be provided when the meeting is held outside your normal working hours.

About the role
This role will provide financial and operational leadership and management for CCLC particularly focussed on the Legal Practice Unit and the Migrant Children’s Project but with support for the Child Law Advice Service and Coram International where required. Managing a small finance team, the role will hold primary responsibility for core financial functions within CCLC including legal aid billing and management and tracking of grant and other charitable funding. Through systematic and efficient financial management, the post holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial sustainability. The role will act as a key point of contact with Coram’s central finance team and a range of internal and external stakeholders on financial matters.
The role will also oversee the smooth running of the London and Colchester offices through line management of operations and administrative staff.
The role would suit a high organised and efficient business support professional with experience of financial management within the legal or charity sector. In particular, candidates with experience of legal billing and more specifically, civil legal aid billing, would be welcomed.
This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the finance and operations team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period (to be negotiated with the successful candidate).The finance team are split between the London and Colchester offices and the post holder should expect some travel to both locations. The large majority of the legal and policy team are based in London and as such regular (at least twice weekly) presence in our London office will be expected. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and implement a Supporter Experience strategy, consulting with colleagues from across the charity to set clear long-term and short-term objectives, with KPI based engagement targets.
· Monitor and review team performance against these and provide regular reports to the Income Generation and Communications Director.
· Recruit and manage your team effectively to deliver excellent supporter engagement across all channels including telephone, email, postal and social media enquiries.

This is an opportunity for a Finance Officer to step into a small, supportive Finance team and to play a vital part in maintaining our accounting records, administering payments to suppliers, staff expenses and petty cash – and assisting in the general running of the unit.

Are you an experienced Finance Officer wanting to work with an amazing organisation?
We are proud to be partnering with a great national charity that supports and advises people experiencing homelessness, helping them rebuild their lives. They are looking for a temp Finance Officer to help deliver an effective rent collection and recovery service in accordance with legislation, the organisation’s policies, set performance targets and customer satisfaction requirements on a full-time basis (37.5 hours) for 6 months in the East London office.
You will ensure that the organisation is compliant with all regulations and using robust policy and procedures. You will be responsible for managing resident rent and accommodation charge accounts and other former resident debts on a regular basis, identifying trends and patterns on individual accounts, and chasing arrears. You will work collaboratively with the Resident Services Manager, Revenue and Income Team Leader and Finance team to ensure all rent accounts are up to date and correct, checking Housing Benefit entitlements against PC rates and requesting adjustments accordingly. You will be liaising with both internal and external partners including the Resident Services, Keyworkers, Housing Benefit, the Department for Work and Pensions and residents. You will provide advice and support service to clients with regards to Housing Benefit Appeals. You will also support the transfer of all accounts from Inform to Pyramid.
Knowledge of welfare benefits, i.e. Housing Benefit and Universal Credit is desirable.
This role requires demonstrable experience of working in a supported housing environment in a similar or related role where dealing with income or revenue, and experience of working with software applications including Microsoft Office and bespoke IT Systems i.e. Inform, Pyramid or similar systems. The successful candidate will be a patient, proactive and solutions-focussed individual with a positive attitude and the ability to present information concisely and clearly, and adapt communication for a range of audiences, including the ability to influence, negotiate and persuade. This Operations Manager role will support our small, high-performing team; strengthen our partnerships and projects; and deliver a programme of events to share our work. Fundraising Manager (Grants and Trusts)
Working closely with the Chief Executive, the Fundraising Manager will help secure and sustain existing and new grant income streams from trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, statutory bodies, and other local or national funders. Deptford X is a visual arts charity based in Deptford, South East London, we foster artistic talent and nurture community within the borough of Lewisham and beyond. We achieve this through a free festival in Deptford, working with hundreds of artists to locate art at the centre of everyday life for all of the area’s communities, and ongoing activity supporting artists and our local communities year-round. Founded in 1998, Deptford X is London’s longest-running visual arts festival.
This is a crucial and exciting time to join Deptford X; in 2023 the organisation turned 25 and also became an Arts Council England NPO. Job Responsibilities
The General Manager is integral to the management of Deptford X and the delivery and development of its ambitious programmes.
