About the role:

As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage worker, you will have experience of intensively and skilfully managing a small caseload of clients.  

In the role of Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be expected to work in conjunction with the Team Manager to manage all referrals and assessments in a timely manner to ensure all assessments are conducted in a skilled and sensitive way to encourage potential clients to openly discuss their strengths as well as their deficits.  

As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be responsible for the delivery, and evaluation, of a range of Life Skills, and Recovery workshops and activities to support our clients' skills acquisition. To give support and guidance to project workers in relation to best practice standards for supporting homeless people with multiple disadvantages and complex needs.

The Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker will have skills in effectively liaising and building good relationships, with external and internal stakeholders to keep a satisfactory level of appropriate referrals.

About you:

• An understanding of best practices in supporting people with complex needs and an ability to support and guidance colleagues.  

• The ability to effectively and intensively case management a small case load of client with complex needs. Also, can create SMART support plans and effectively assess risk.  

• Experience and commitment to working flexibly and creatively to response to changes in sectorial best practice, external environment, organisational requirements, etc.  

• Experience of working with or supporting vulnerable people with support needs around any of the following issues; rough sleeping, mental ill-health, physical health, neuro diversity, problematic substance misuse, ex- offending.

Hillside Clubhouse is recruiting for a mental health employment specialist to join our dynamic Camden team supporting people with mental health conditions to gain and retain employment.  The role is working within the nationally recognised IPS (Individual Placement and Support) model within an NHS secondary care mental health team based in the heart of Camden.

Who we are: 

Hillside Clubhouse is a co-produced mental health employment support charity working across Camden and Islington. We support people with mental health conditions into training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. People can access our services via our Clubhouse, where they can share their skills and expertise with others and support the running of the charity.  Alternatively, they can receive support out in the community from one of our employment specialists based within primary and secondary care.

The Role: 

The role is within our IPS Service and will be based within a Camden NHS secondary care team. As an IPS Employment Specialist, you’ll play an important role in supporting people with lived mental health experience on their recovery journey by supporting them back into paid employment. This is an opportunity to offer ongoing support, to motivate and provide people with hope, while developing the tools and skills required to recover, ultimately transforming their lives.

A variety of skills are needed in this post including but not limited to -  a strong ability to develop empathy and rapport with clients; a determined approach to seeking out job opportunities; a person centric-approach to working with people; strong communications skills to motivate clients; strong administrative capabilities and an attention to detail engage with prospective employers via business development and face-to-face meetings, and to be able to challenge some perceptions around mental health. 

The postholder will be directly employed by Hillside Clubhouse but work under an Honorary Contract from Camden and Islington Foundation Trust.  They will be managed directly by the IPS Operations Manager but work as team member within the clinical team. The role is dynamic and involves being integrated in a clinical team, working within the community, and we operate a flexible working policy where working from home is also permitted up to two days per week.

Overall aim: 

To enable people with mental health issues to gain and sustain competitive employment by working within the evidence based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.

Primary Duties: 

• Manage a caseload of up to twenty clients and work within and apply the 8 principles of IPS in all aspects of role. 
• To work with and enable clients to find work using a mix of conventional approaches and employer engagement. 
• To generate ongoing referrals from the clinical team and to manage those effectively. 
• To engage directly and collaboratively with the clinical team while maintaining the existing multi-disciplinary approach to assisting clients seeking work. 
• To report and meet regularly with clinical team service managers and the IPS Operations manager, and to participate in both casework and clinical supervision from IPS Operations and clinical team services managers. 
• To be an active member of both the clinical and Hillside teams 
• To be responsible for own management of administrative duties tied to both Hillside Clubhouse and clinical team and adhering to existing Hillside and NHS protocols. 
• Source job opportunities specific to client needs from a range of sources including those advertised via current and conventional means, as well as through contact with local and Pan London employers. 
• To build up a network of employers to secure available and future vacancies. 
• To maintain existing and seek out new relationships with a range of external agencies of use to the post. 
• To provide ongoing support to both client and employers (where appropriate) when starting work and until such time as the client makes the decision to end the support provided. 
• To work with clients to collaboratively manage job searching activities and engagement with the service. 
• To manage and meet all KPIs, statistics and documentation as required, including but not limited to: referrals, first meetings, job outcomes, job sustainments of 6, 13 and 26 weeks, and work retention. 
• To provide guidance on the impact and/or the potential change to benefits when clients start work. 
• To work and manage time effectively in both community/external settings, and at clinical team.

• Secondary Duties: 
• To work out of hours as and when required, working in line with Hillside Clubhouse risk management procedures. 
• Undertake training when required and participate in ongoing learning and development. 
• To maintain professional boundaries with all internal and external stake holders including clients, and staff members of both Hillside and the clinical team. 
• To engage and participate in external IPS support services, training, and events. 
• To undertake additional tasks and duties as and when required, and to work outside of normal office hours when necessary.

About the role:

As the post-holder, you will be working in our Camden Women's Recovery Service hostel providing specialist interventions for a designated caseload and to the wider client group, via our in-house recovery programme. 

Your role will be working intensively with the residents on their supports needs. The role of Complex Needs Project Worker is a specialist role, designed to work with people who may be more difficult to reach and establish working relationships with.  As such, you will role model good practice for working with those who have experienced multiple disadvantage by adopting a trauma informed approach.

Within this setting, you will also work to establish a culture of co-production where residents are at the forefront of the work that is carried out, helping to promote autonomy and build individual confidence and interpersonal skills.

The rota for the post is earlies (8 am - 4 pm) and lates (2.30pm - 10.30pm).

About you:

• Previous experience of working with female rough sleepers or people with complex mental health, physical health or substance use support needs. 
• An understanding of working with people using person-centred approaches and working collaboratively within a harm minimisation and recovery framework.
• A flexible, innovative and creative approach to working with a sometimes hard to engage and challenging client group, is also required.

Barbara Ansell National Network for Adolescent Rheumatology (BANNAR) started in 2013 and has been nested within Versus Arthritis since 2020. BANNAR are a group of professionals from medical, nursing, allied health and third sector backgrounds working in adolescent and young adult (AYA) rheumatology. The network aims to promote best practice and develop research in this area by working with professionals and supporting the National Youth Advisory Panel, Your Rheum.

The BANNAR Project Support Officer will support the BANNAR Leadership team and BANNAR members to maintain a valuable professional network. Overview

The Social Mobility Foundation is seeking to recruit group leaders to support and supervise over 300 Year 12/S5 or Year 13/S6 students on internship programmes this summer. The young people will be high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds and they will be undertaking internships in the following professions: Banking and Finance, Business, Engineering, Law, Digital and Medicine. The internships will take place in person in either London, Middlesbrough, Manchester or Glasgow.

Accommodation: The group leaders will be provided with accommodation in the same location as the participants on the programme and will be responsible for the welfare of the young people staying there. The dates of the programmes running are listed below.  

Training: All Group leaders will be required to participate in training provided by the SMF before the residentials begin and then adhere to all aspects of that training. Group leaders will also be provided with the SMF’s safeguarding policy and all necessary risk assessments and health and safety/emergency information, and will be similarly required to adhere to all aspects of the documentation.

Transport: The SMF will cover all transport costs for Group Leaders, including train tickets to and from London, Manchester, Middlesbrough, and Glasgow as well as travel within the city for the duration of the programme.

Day Group Leader Hours: 7.30am-10am and 4.30pm-10.30pm. Leaders are required to be ‘On-Call’ (excluding breaks) between 10am-4:30pm and may be asked to do additional work during these hours. Leaders will be paid for any additional hours worked. 

Night Group Leader Hours: 10pm-6am. Leaders may be asked to assist with student events in the evenings i.e. from 6pm onwards (optional). Leaders will be paid for any additional hours worked.

Person Specification

• Good interpersonal and communication skills  
• Ability to engage and communicate appropriately with young people
• Ability to encourage group discussion and build rapport with young people
• Some experience of working with young people, either through work or volunteering (although not necessarily on residential programmes)
• Hard-working and efficient
• An understanding of university admissions (e.g. have applied to a university or understand the process)
• Ability to ensure discipline is maintained and young people are kept safe throughout the residential
• An understanding of safeguarding, with the ability to follow safeguarding policies and practices to keep young people safe.

Day Group Leaders – Specific Responsibilities

Reporting line: All group leaders will report to a designated supervisor.

Group leaders will be the ‘responsible adult’ for a small group of up to 12 young people and share supervisory responsibilities for all of the young people on the programme when the group is together.

Responsibilities for Group Leaders on in person programmes will include:

• Living on-site in the accommodation provided for the duration of the internships
• Taking students to and from their internship locations and evening activities each day, using the London Underground or other local public transport systems
• Seeing to the smooth running of morning and evening activities, including ensuring all the young people are in the right place at the right time and understand what is required of them.
• Monitoring the behaviour of the participating students and taking action in the event of any incident of unacceptable behaviour (which includes being absent from an activity without prior agreement, disobeying any regulation in the host accommodation or at work, any action that might or does cause damage to persons or property, or any other infringement of the Codes of Conduct agreed by the participants and their parents)
• Taking action if a participant is ill or injured, in consultation with the relevant supervisor  
• Being aware of health and safety and child protection issues, and taking action wherever necessary to remove or alleviate dangers or risks
• Ensuring that the members of your specified group are engaging fully in all aspects of the programme, alerting SMF staff to any issues i.e. homesickness, lack of supervision in the workplace, etc.
• Being actively involved in the evening activities to help the young people complete the required tasks, assisting those delivering the activities as required
• Ensuring that participants are in their own rooms at the specified time in the evening and that they are adhering to the codes of conduct.
• Undertake other duties as determined by SMF staff present

Breakfast will be provided, and you will be given a daily allowance for lunch.

Evening meals will be provided on site, or you will receive additional allowance on nights you are eating out with students at restaurants.

Night Group Leaders – Specific Responsibilities

Reporting line: All group leaders will report to a designated supervisor.

Night group leaders will be the point of contact throughout the night should students have any issues. The most important aspect is always student welfare and safeguarding.

Responsibilities for Group Leaders on in person programmes will include:

• Living on-site in the accommodation provided for the duration of the internships.
• Meeting with other night group leaders and programme supervisor before each evening patrol, to discuss any issues from the previous night (for example, particular students being in each other’s rooms when they should not be, students not going to bed when they should be)
• Undertake night patrols from approximately 11pm, being present in accommodation hallways and exit points
• Remaining on call and contactable (in your room) between 1am and 7am  and undertaking basic administrative tasks, as assigned by the supervisor
• Taking part in some evening activities with students and other residential staff where needed – this is optional and time will be added to your paid hours. 
• Taking students to and from their internship locations where needed – this is optional time will be added to your paid hours.
• Monitoring the behaviour of the participating students during the night and taking action in the event of any incident of unacceptable behaviour (which includes absconding from accommodation, disobeying any regulation in the host accommodation at night, any action that might or does cause damage to persons or property, or any other infringement of the Codes of Conduct agreed by the participants and their parents)
• Taking action if a participant is ill or injured during the night, in consultation with the relevant SMF staff member.
• Being aware of health and safety and child protection issues and taking action wherever necessary to remove or alleviate dangers or risks.

Night group leaders will be free to spend their daytime hours as they wish.

We're seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Young Person’s Worker. In this role, you will play a vital role in providing support to at-risk young people who are experiencing homelessness.

This is an exciting role in our Supported Accommodation team that will be the first point of contact for the hostel and input information on the client database in order to ensure that all staff have timely and accurate information about residents. You will also assist the Registered Manager in recording and reviewing documentation in relation to the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and our registration and regulation under OFSTED. CHAIN stands for the Combined Homelessness and Information Network and is a multi-agency database for rough sleeping services in London. It plays a central role in the sector, allowing workers to share information with each other and ensuring their clients get the right support. CHAIN is one of the world’s most comprehensive systems of its kind, and is used for developing London and UK-wide rough sleeping strategy and policy.

This is an exciting time to become a Support Officer for CHAIN, as we carry out some major upgrades to the system and implement new ways of working.  This dynamic role requires a flexible skillset, responsiveness, and a willingness to learn. Working collaboratively in a small team, you will:

• Develop relationships with rough sleeper outreach services, enabling them to make the best use of CHAIN to support their clients
