As our Mission Personnel Officer, your role will involve acting as the first point of contact for our mission enquirers, providing warm and friendly support through the application process and beyond! This role provides ongoing administrative and HR support to our Mission Personnel to enable them to thrive in the places they serve. This includes enabling the:
• selection, preparation, support and debriefing of Christian mission workers
• collation, updating and advertising of overseas recruitment opportunities
• updating of policies and procedures, including insurance, personnel handbooks, and travel
• maintenance of accurate records using an electronic database
• strengthening of internal communication.
The successful applicant will be a committed Christian. The nature of this role means that this is a specific occupational requirement.
Key information
Location: Didcot, Oxfordshire / Flexible working.
This role can be office-based or hybrid. The role includes hosting visitors to the office and so is required to be present in the Didcot office on those days. There is scope to work from home some of the time. The cost of travel to BMS Didcot whether on a regular basis or infrequently, would be borne by the employee.

Hours: 35 hrs per week
Salary range: £25,855.00 to £30,678.00 per annum

As the HR Officer, you will play an important role in HR operations, providing administrative support for key HR processes spanning the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to leavers. This includes ensuring our policies and processes represent best practices, maintaining the staff handbook, and ensuring that the online HR software is used to its full potential
You will have a good understanding of good HR practices, be familiar with data protection regulations and be a very competent administrator.

- Experience of working in a busy HR and/or recruitment team with experience of working with and maintaining HR and Recruitment systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to communicate effectively with a variety of people from candidates to hiring managers to Directors, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and build good working relationships at all levels.
- Able to pragmatically manage a highly variable workload with competing priorities whilst maintaining attention to detail, delivering to deadlines and the ability to self-motivate.
- A good base knowledge and understanding of current employment law to ensure all administration tasks are completed compliantly.
- Exceptionally organised with the ability to produce high quality outputs in a short timeframe.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

managing communications with internal and external stakeholders.
· Manage key reporting processes, including receiving, approving, distributing reports, and
filing them accurately.
· Attend and minute meetings, both internal and external.
· Support the Executive Director in producing high-quality materials such as presentations,
documents, and reports, liaising with external agencies when necessary.
· Coordinate travel arrangements and accommodations for the Executive Director.
· Manage expenses and financial records for the Executive Director.
· Assist in the preparation of proposals, applications, and reports, providing administrative
support as needed.
· Support the Executive Director in maintaining relationships with donors, partners, and
stakeholders..
· Conduct research and gather information on relevant topics as requested.
· Facilitate internal communications within the organisation, including disseminating
information, coordinating team meetings, and maintaining communication channels.
· Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism,
maintaining confidentiality at all times.
· Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or senior management
team.
