Our aim at Sutton Carers Centre is to ensure that no Carer has to reach crisis point before they get the information, advice or support they need.
We are pleased to have been awarded (in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society Sutton) the Adult Carers Support contract within the London Borough of Sutton. This is funded by Sutton Council and Sutton Clinical Commissioning Group to enable us to deliver high-quality, outcomes-based support services for Sutton residents who provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend who is sick or disabled due to physical, mental health or substance misuse issues.
Additionally, as a partner in the Advice & Information Service (ALPS – Advice Link in Partnership Sutton) we are working alongside the lead partner Citizen Advice (Sutton), as well as Age UK Sutton and others to supply an expert range of information and advice to meet the needs of the population of Sutton.
We are seeking a motivated and energetic person to be part of a team of talented paid staff and volunteers whose role will be central to the development of a high quality information and advice service for the Boroughs residents. Whilst helping people to develop their own support networks, independent of statutory or public services, you will where needed, also be supporting the progression, to an existing range of evidence-based support specific to Carers such as training workshops, support groups and opportunities for them to take a break.
You will have a proven track record of delivering high quality information, advice and support using resilience and capacity-building approaches. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise conflicting demands on your own workload whilst working in a fast paced, constantly changing environment, are key components of this role. You will need to be flexible to the needs of Carers as well as the organisation, including occasional working outside normal office hours.
Sutton Carers Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults and children, and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS and other appropriate checks. We welcome applications from both men and women as well as people from diverse backgrounds including those with caring responsibilities, disabilities and lived experience of mental health issues.
If you think you share our values and have the right knowledge and experience, then please apply now.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
