We are Advance, a women-only organisation dedicated to helping women cope and recover from experiences of domestic abuse, as well as women who are at risk of offending or with short term sentences to reduce offending.

Working as part of the Angelou Partnership, we deliver nationally accredited, quality marked support services in Hammersmith, Fulham, Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea.

We are currently looking for a number of Experienced / Senior Level IDVAs (Independent Domestic Violence Advisors) to join our team.

The Role

As an Experienced / Senior Level IDVA, you will help to provide vital services to support women and girls who have experienced domestic violence.

Working in a fast-paced crisis intervention, advocacy and support service, you’ll ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process.

You will provide high-quality advocacy and support which is led by client needs and risk assessments. Depending on the team you join, you may provide specialist support in an area such as housing or health. 

Additionally, you will: 

- Share your expertise with other members of the team 
- Hold a caseload and conduct comprehensive assessments of needs and risk
- Develop and deliver support plans 
- Support women attending court when necessary
- Co-ordinate multi-agency support

About You

To join us as an Experienced / Senior Level IDVA, you will need: 

- Substantial experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage or so-called ‘honour’-based violence
- Substantial experience of risk and needs assessment and safety and support planning, particularly with clients who have complex/multiple needs
- An in-depth understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual violence, so called ‘honour’-based violence, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families and communities
- Solid experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- A relevant qualification or training, for example in domestic violence, criminal justice, law, social work or a related area
