The Ethical Property Foundation is the only dedicated property advice charity serving the UK voluntary sector. We support over 450 voluntary organisations p.a. with expert and independent property advice and education. We are currently seeking one or more self-employed Chartered Surveyors (or with an equivalent professional qualification), to augment our team and specifically, to assist us in delivering our affordable consultancy.
We are particularly looking for surveyors with an ability to think and report strategically or offer specialisms such as building surveying and planning.
Our Associate Property Advisers are all extraordinary people: senior property professionals. As part of this team, you will be assigned projects to lead on or supporting other members. You will use your communication skills to gain the trust of our clients, many of whom support vulnerable people in challenging circumstances, and empower them to expand their property knowledge and confidence. You will use your wide knowledge of the property sector to investigate/analyse client issues and develop suitable options and solutions. The projects you will deliver include property health checks, feasibility studies, options appraisals & development of client property strategies. Average project time allocation: between 4 – 5 days. There may be opportunities to deliver webinar training too.
Our clients support every kind of good cause and are responsible for every type of property. In the last 12 months, besides conventional office premises, we have advised on: church buildings, oast houses, former schools, industrial units, fields, warehouses, libraries, theatres, and mills.
Location: Flexible working from home. Projects will include client site visits in England, Wales and Scotland.

The Director of Finance will be a first-class communicator who can work in collaboration with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be a strong advocate for a finance team that offers a best-in-class delivery of customer focused financial services. You must enjoy hands-on management and oversee the Head of Finance and the Finance team, ensuring that they continue to provide robust financial governance and control. This will all be conjunction with growing their knowledge and capacity with the Dynamic 365 platform to meet the ever-evolving needs and strategy of the Society. The post holder will also safeguard the financial integrity of the Society, its governance, and ensure it is fully compliant with all statutory requirements. This purpose extends to the Society’s subsidiaries.
This rewarding and varied role will see you will have full participation in the formulation and presentation of the Society’s strategic and operational plans and work closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees to make the British Horse Society the best it can be.
The Society's Head Office is based near Stoneleigh in Warwickshire. Hybrid working is in place with 2-3 days per week required onsite.
Essential Criteria
- Fully Qualified Accountant
- Proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility across the whole finance function.
- Experience at a senior level as Company Secretary or equivalent
- Experienced in delivering finance system and/or ERP transformation
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop team members to their full potential.
- Demonstrated aptitude for strategic thinking, planning and analysis.
- Excellent financial planning, annual budgeting and forecasting skills
Desirable Criteria
- Charity sector experience particularly the nature of unrestricted, designated and restricted funds, VAT Partial Exemption, Gift Aid and the Charity SORP
- An understanding of education and qualification regulation and compliance
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced civil litigator to join our small (but mighty!) in-house team at Fish Legal. We use the law to fight pollution and other damage or threats to the water environment.
You’ll work closely with our Head of Practice to provide a responsive, practical, cost-effective service taking civil action on behalf of angler members regarding damage to fisheries.

What you’ll be doing
· Provide legal advice and representation to member clubs, riparians, and fishery owners in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland

Senior Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Specialist
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist to support staff and volunteers by providing advice and guidance, and to develop new ways of working to support senior leadership to embed EDI practices across the country.
This is an exciting time to join the organisation; one year into an ambitious EDI programme that underpins the new strategy to 2030.
Position: Senior Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Specialist

Location: Remote or hybrid (homeworking or based in one of the regional offices in Birmingham, London, Brighton, Newcastle, Lancaster, Exeter, Norwich or Sandy or hybrid)
Hours: Part-time, 0.6 FTE (3 days per week)
Salary: £36,577.00 - £39,267.00 per annum, pro rata
Contract: Fixed Term – 12 months. This role may be extended or made permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.

The Role
Issues of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) have shaped the charity since its inception in 1889. 132 years later these issues are more relevant than ever; the natural world has been pushed to its limits and humanity’s increasing destruction of nature is having devastating consequences not just for wildlife and the climate, but for the wellbeing of people.
In this role, you will be directly line managed by the UK EDI Manager, taking steer from, and feeding into, the central UK programme of EDI work and will work to support staff specifically in England and will work closely with the England Head of Engagement.
We know that, to tackle the nature and climate emergency, we need to enable more, and more diverse, people to act for nature. And as conservation is one of the least diverse sectors in the UK, the charity is committed to not only improving the workplace and its culture, but also driving forward EDI as it is everyone’s responsibility towards a sustainable future for people and nature together.
Specific tasks include:
- To provide EDI specialist support, advice and expertise to teams in England who are developing and delivering EDI activities which relate to their specific work areas. This includes work specifically on anti-racism.
- To coordinate EDI activities across England, maximising opportunities for scale-up and identifying risks, which feed into the central UK EDI work programme. To convene the England EDI Delivery Group, which is made up of representatives across England who each lead EDI activities within their teams.
- With project manager support, to develop ways of working, and associated training and guidance to staff in England on working in diverse partnerships, including effective relationship management.
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about driving forward change and who is keen to support staff who are leading their own activities and small projects relating to EDI. You will have experience of successfully influencing change to improve equality, diversity and inclusion in an organisation or in a community setting.

- Broad EDI knowledge, with an understanding of current thinking and actions particularly in the areas of anti-racism and accessibility.
- Experience of providing strategic operational advice and guidance on EDI to people at all levels.
- Project Management experience, including data gathering, project evaluation, and report writing.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and demonstrable experience of developing and working in a variety of diverse partnerships.
- Experience of leading behaviour change projects or interventions in a large organisation.
- Strong facilitation and training skills and experience.
- Excellent communication skills, including experience of supporting EDI through remote working platforms such as Teams or Zoom.
