Purpose and Scope of the Role

Main Tasks and Responsibilities;
Working within the team
· To ensure the professional and organisational requirements are respected and met during the delivery of advice.
· To assist the senior colleagues and Operations Manager in order to drive efficiency, quality, systems improvement and target achievement.
Casework and advice
· To offer advice, advocacy and support to service users with various aspects related to their welfare as requested by the management of RMC and funders’ requirements.
· To maintain confidentiality in all dealings with service users and ensure their needs are met in a satisfactory and sensitive manner.
· To provide appropriate support and mentoring to any volunteers under supervision.
· To represent RMC at external meetings and events when required by the senior colleagues.
· To maintain effective working relationships with partners and stakeholders.
A DBS check will be carried out for this post.
Flexibility
In order to deliver the stated aims of for this post, a degree of flexibility is needed and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above, such duties will fall within the scope of the job and be directly related within the appropriate pay grade. We are looking for a new full time, 17-month fixed term Funding Officer to join the passionate, vibrant and friendly team in the North West Region to be part of ensuring our funding supports a wide variety of communities and places locally. The role will cover Greater Manchester, with occasional work in other parts of the North West.
The team is based remotely across the North West of England and this role is to support delivery in Greater Manchester. Ideally the successful candidate will live in Greater Manchester and will be part of the local team, led by a Funding Manager, and comprised of several other Funding Officers.
As a member of the funding team you will assess applications for funding and manage grants from our Reaching Communities and Partnerships programmes. You will use your local knowledge and experience, and the experience of our grant holders and local stakeholders, to ensure we are making the best decisions on the grants we make. By working closely with people and communities from a defined geographical area, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.
You will gain an understanding of our vision, our commitment to equity and inclusion and our funding programmes. You will be responsible for your own caseload; liaise with grant recipients, visit projects, identify and manage risks, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact. You will need to understand and respond to the different needs of our applicants and grant holders by providing advice and feedback and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations. You’ll also need to work within the Fund’s policies and procedures and the necessary legislation, and in a way that is in line with our vision and principles.
Part of your role will be to represent the Fund within your local area including at funding fairs and external meetings and create opportunities for people to come together. Sharing learning from your conversations, events, grant holder reports and evaluations you will support the Fund in maximising our impact as a grant maker.

Desirable Criteria:
• Knowledge of the local areas you would be covering and their charity sectors. Experience working with under-represented communities in the area is particularly desirable.
•Understanding of financial planning and business plans, ability to analyse accounts and numerical data.
•Demonstrable IT skills and the ability to learn detailed processes quickly and accurately.
•An ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision
The ability to drive and access to a vehicle is beneficial for this role but not essential.

A new opportunity for a Funding Officer working with The Phoenix Way Partners (TPW). This is a national collaborative partnership created during the Covid-19 pandemic as a response to the structural inequalities which Black and Ethnic Minority communities and community-led organisations face in relation to influencing and accessing grant funding in the UK.
This Funding Officer position is looking after the North East and Cumbria region within a wider team of eight people across England, and reporting into a Funding Manager.
In your role you will:
- Assess requests for funding and manage grants using best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making.
- Share learning from your conversations, project visits, grant holder reports and evaluations with other colleagues so that we can maximise our impact.
- Ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker.
- Manage your own caseload, liaise with grant holders, partners, undertake project visits, identify and manage risk, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact
- Have a passion for equitable grant making and be part of an inclusive team. You will be able to demonstrate a “can do” attitude and a solution focused approach.
You will ideally live in or near the geographic area listed that this role will cover or have excellent knowledge of the area. The role focuses on the delivery of consultancy and training. It is responsible for meeting income targets, managing project budgets, and coordinating projects. This is done with oversight and support from senior and lead consultants.

- manage and coordinate projects from end to end, with support from senior and lead consultants

- coordinate the work of existing associates and agree fees within an established framework.
You don’t need to have experience working as a consultant before. But we need you to be curious, analytical and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

We are working with an amazing mission led organisation to support them in finding a great Help Desk Advisor. The role would see you using those great listening and problem solving skills, and supporting people in crisis, and vulnerable people.
You will be working in a hybrid way, with 2-3 days per week in the London office, working with other advisors so that you can support each other, and increase your learning. The role also home working for the remainder of the week, enabling great flexibility.
The role will see you managing multiple referrals at any one time. Your comfort in moving at pace from one conversation to another, whilst ensuring that the information that you provide is correct, and fully understood will be key. You will also be learning which cases to refer to other areas. There is great training in place, and the right candidate will be fully supported in getting up to speed in this hugely impactful role.
