We need a National Project Manager to join the Central Support Team working 21 hours per week on a fixed term contract. There will be some travel required to support regional coordinators within England and Wales.
The role will oversee the delivery of a joint project with a major corporate partner which will ensure that hard-to-reach communities are aware of how to make the digital switchover from analogue phone landlines. Using the huge reach of Neighbourhood Watch and our energetic volunteers, we aim to communicate on a one-to-one basis using community-based events.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget and meets high quality standards, maintaining project and monitoring documentation.
You will lead a small team of regional coordinators, providing support and guidance and ensure the profile and development of volunteering is in line with the organisation's needs.
This role is a hybrid one with homeworking and occasional travel within England and Wales alongside regular travel to London.
In this post you will be:
- overseeing the project and managing its documentation
- managing the project budget (with support from finance)
- responsible for delivering key project objectives
- line-managing a small number of home-based volunteer coordinators working across geographical regions, and providing guidance and advice to them
- supporting and developing volunteers from Neighbourhood Watch groups to deliver local information sessions for the digital switchover across in their area/region
- leading on national project engagement activities, working closely with the central support team and our national corporate partner to ensure these activities are delivered
- supporting volunteer coordinators to have the knowledge, skills and training to effectively manage volunteers
- raising the profile of Neighbourhood Watch volunteering internally and externally
- undertaking reporting and analysis on a range of activities including events and providing updates to meetings and project documentation
- presenting to volunteers
What we need from the ideal candidate:
- knowledge of volunteering best practice, trends and developments
- experience in advising and leading those managing volunteers
- highly numerate and able to present statistics in a digestible format
- excellent communication skills with the ability to present well to audiences
- experience of managing a team and volunteer management
- experience in managing challenging stakeholders
- to be highly organised and able to manage broad and conflicting priorities and tasks
Experience of working in a variety of voluntary/charitable organisations would be advantageous.

Purpose of the roles:
- To be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Neighbourhood Watch’s partner project involving Neighbourhood Watch volunteers within one of the regional areas.
- Delivering training to volunteers so they can deliver information sessions to community groups.
- Organising community events where information sessions are delivered by volunteers.
- Ensuring information sessions are delivered to the highest and consistent standards, and that feedback requests are acted upon swiftly.
Hours of employment are:
- South East of England 0.6 FTE (21 hours per week)
- South West of England 0.8FTE (28 hours per week)
- Wales 0.8FTE (28 hours per week)
All on a 12 month fixed term contract. Core hours are 10am-12pm and 2-4pm with an unpaid lunch break.

Job Title: Caring Dads Practitioner
Hours: 22.5 hours per week across 3 days.
Salary: £16,200 per annum (£27,000.00 Full Time Equivalent)
Base: Ashurst / Colocation venues, Southampton
Contract: Part Time - 12 months Fixed Term Contract (extension subject to funding)
Caring Dads exists to change current practice to better include fathers in efforts to enhance the safety and well-being of their children. The practitioner will work directly with fathers with an aim to improve relationships with their children, families, and co-parents/carers. This will include promoting the service to a range of teams across Hampshire and Southampton, to generate programme referrals. You will work closely with Hampton Trust domestic abuse perpetrator service to identify client suitability for the Caring Dads programme.
As the Caring Dads Practitioner, you will be required to deliver the Caring Dads and Accredited Domestic Abuse Prevention Training (ADAPT) Programme. This includes one to one support and group work. Groups are delivered on weekday evenings; you will be required to deliver one group work sessions per week.
You will undertake treatment and risk assessments of individuals causing harm in their relationships; this includes active case/risk management of families living with domestic abuse. Although this position is based in Ashurst, you will be co-located into social work teams across Hampshire three days per week, with an aim to providing support and advice in identifying suitable families for the Caring Dads and ADAPT programme.

About the role:
You will be talking to people on the telephone from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences. No two days are the same & you will need to use your communication skills and resilient nature to help those dealing with trauma and the effects of crime, who may have gone through a life-changing experience. Previous experience is not required as you will receive robust training prior to working directly with clients. You will also receive ongoing support to ensure that you can provide victims with quick responses to meet their needs and help them cope and recover.
These roles are based in our Victim Care Unit in Ashford. There may be an option to split the work between home and the office dependant upon personal circumstances and subject to GDPR and safe working practices. This would involve three days office based and two days remote working. You will be working shifts Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm or 12pm and 8pm. Shifts are designated on a rota basis and scheduled well in advance so you can plan ahead. You will be working within a supportive team that is part of a large independent charity which offers the opportunity to develop skills to enhance your ongoing personal development.
