Job Purpose
Increasing numbers of Disabled people are becoming aware of the fact that CYCLING might be possible for them. However, information about how/where to access cycling, the variety of possible equipment, regulations around cycling a non-standard cycle, funding avenues, etc. can be difficult to find. As the Wheels4MeLondon loan scheme starts to be marketed in Spring/Summer 2024, we anticipate increasing numbers of enquiries to reach us, including from around the UK.
With the support of the rest of the Wheels for Wellbeing team, our Specialist Advisor will become very knowledgeable about all aspects of Inclusive Cycling and will support enquirers with information and advice about the most appropriate next steps with regards to their cycling ambitions. They will provide information and advice, based on where enquirers live, their level of experience with cycling, their goals (whether they wish to try out cycling, to borrow, hire or to purchase a cycle, etc.).
Where a caller wishes to attend one of our own cycling sessions, the Advisor will support them with using our booking system. Where a caller is ready to borrow a cycle through Wheels4MeLondon, the Specialist Advisor will support callers to request a loan via the Peddle My Wheels website. Peddle My Wheels staff will then deliver the cycle to them at the agreed place and time, provide cycle training where required, and collect the cycle at the end of the loan period. For other enquiries, the Advisor will signpost callers to relevant external organisations.
To be successful in this role you need excellent listening and communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You will love acquiring knowledge (including through online research), storing information and sharing it. You need to be confident using record keeping systems, within our data protection & privacy policy and working with people from diverse backgrounds and with a range of accessibility needs.
Job Description
1. Answering enquirers’ queries and providing information. This will include:
a. Being first point of contact for enquiries into Wheels for Wellbeing’s phone / email.
b. Actively listening to understand the detailed nature of the query and responding through the most appropriate and accessible mode of communication, whether contact is made by phone, email, instant messaging or other methods of communication.
c. Sourcing information from the rest of the Wheels for Wellbeing team and/or researching specific information for callers (where appropriate, redirecting the query to colleagues within the organisation or signposting them to other organisations).
d. Ensuring that new, useful information is stored/posted to our website for use by future enquirers.
e. Supporting people with queries about how to access Wheels for Wellbeing’s services, including support with our booking system
2. Building accessible information resources (eg: website pages, briefings, FAQ page, etc.) about Inclusive cycling, such as:
a. Inclusive cycling opportunities providers in London and around the UK
b. Types & models of non-standard cycles and specialist adaptions retailers around the UK and overseas
c. Details of the Wheels4Me London’s scheme and other inclusive cycle hire/loan schemes around the UK.
d. Funding options for Disabled people wishing to purchase their own cycles
3. Effective liaison with all Wheels4MeLondonPlus partners for successful cycle loan experience. This will include:
a. Regular communication with the Peddle My Wheels team to ensure most effective referral methods (to be developed with your input, as the scheme gets off the ground during Spring/Summer 2024)
b. Take part in project team meetings with all partners (Sustrans London; Peddle My Wheels and the rest of the WfW team).
c. Collect and store data such as numbers & types of enquiries, case studies, etc., as required for reporting to the funder.
d. Contribute to short articles, social media posts, etc. for the promotion of Wheels for Me London and Inclusive Cycling in general.
Other:
- Contribute to the ongoing development of Wheels for Wellbeing, team meetings and organisational priorities
-Be proactive in keeping up to date with developments affecting the role
-Abide by and promote organisational policies and practices, and charity’s values

The Adult Services Team Manager is one of 3 team managers reporting to our Chief Executive Officer. The services managed include Direct Payment Support across Richmond and Wandsworth, Befriending and Community Activities, our Benefits and Housing Advice and Information service and our Counselling service.
We constantly research and develop services to meet the identified needs of the community and this role would suit someone who wants a good level of autonomy to develop new ideas.
The Adults Services Manager works alongside our Children’s Team Manager and our Social Prescribing and Community Development Manager, supported by Finance, Fundraising and Campaigns and Communications Managers.
Purpose of Post
- To be responsible for the management of the Support Services to Direct Payment clients in Richmond and Wandsworth.
- To be responsible for the research and development of adult services in Richmond and Wandsworth.
- To oversee promotion, monitoring and delivery of the CILS, Pathways and Counselling services.
- To provide leadership and supervision, performance evaluation and general support for all of the adult services team managers and leads
- To be responsible for adult safeguarding and health and safety across the organisation.

Main Duties include:
Management of Direct Payment Support Service
- Lead and manage the Direct Payment Support Service across Richmond and Wandsworth Boroughs through an experienced DP Project Manager.
- Provide support to the DP Project Manager to resolve complex DP HR management issues around the area of employment law.
- Support the Project Manager in their work with the local authority to set targets for the project, monitor performance against these targets and identify and resolve any issues that arise.
- Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees
- Work with the DP Project Manager and the CEO on new DP projects and funding applications as required.
CILS, Pathways and Counselling Teams
- Lead and manage the delivery of the Community activity, Befriending, Pathways and Counselling services.
- Work with the CILS partners to ensure that the service is meeting Local Authority targets
- Report as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of trustees
- Responsible for ensuring active promotion of the services to potential and existing clients and stakeholders and to ensure representation of Ruils at networking events.
- Work with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to ensure projects are fully funded and demand is well managed.
General Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring safeguarding policies and principles are upheld across Adult Teams.

You will be the parent or carer of a child or young person with Autism.
You will provide an advice, information and guidance service to predominantly Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) and East European families in the London Borough of Ealing who have been referred to the All Age Autism Hub for assessment.
You will respond to first enquiries and contribute to the Ealing All The Autism referral hub service development and workings of the Hub as an expert by experience.
You will support group sessions for the Autism Hub as well as any of the Ealing run projects as and when required. You will support the Hub clinical team and Contact Ealing colleagues with administrative support around group sessions and training for families and professionals.
You will assess families’ needs and plan actions with parents’ participation as per their needs. You will encourage parent carers’ empowerment and involvement in the project.
What we’re looking for
- Parent of autistic child or young person
- Experience of working with and supporting families who have disabled children.
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Knowledge and experience of the issues and concerns that affect families who have disabled children e.g. leisure provision, education, respite care.

The role

They will also work closely with the Content Team to ensure that BDF’s resources reflect the latest best practice and with the Policy Team to ensure BDF’s advice and resources reflect the latest policy and research thinking and to maintain our position as thought leaders.

- Experience of leading and managing experts on diversity and inclusion related situations and of motivating.
- A demonstrable track record of relationship building at a senior level leading to tangible results.
- Experience of providing consultancy, training and advice on disability related issues.

The Benefits Specialist role is essential in supporting disabled households receive the benefits that they are entitled to. - Delivering and continually update training for energy advisers to ensure expertise in benefits advice.
- Analysing enquiry trends to inform training development and report on service enhancements.
- Ensuring timely, high-quality responses to benefits enquiries.
- Tailoring information delivery to individual needs, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and accessibility.
- Staying informed on disability-related legislation and welfare benefits to provide authoritative advice.
- Analysing inquiries to tailor training and develop robust management information.
- Creating accessible, informative content to meet the evolving needs of disabled individuals and their families.
About You
- You will have strong experience and up to date knowledge of welfare benefits to provide accurate information and support to disabled people. Demonstrated Skills in Training or education, particularly in a support or service context
- You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to be able to communicate difficult and complex information. A strong ability to convey complex information in an accessible way and engage diverse audiences.
- Adaptability and resilience: Ability to respond positively to change while being able to work effectively with conflicting priorities.
- You will be highly organised with the capacity to manage multiple priorities when delivering training sessions and one-to-one support. A collaborative team player, capable of working effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products. Excellent attention to detail when using databases and proficient in data analysis for service delivery improvement.
- You will bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and can demonstrate that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people and their families.

The role
We will need you to take a lead on evaluating the impact of each phase and use that information to shape the next. The campaign will have both online and offline activity and lots of moving parts, so you’ll need to be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
You will:
- Work collaboratively across Scope to deliver our general election campaign, and help us make sure disabled people’s voices are heard by Government and politicians.
- Work closely with our National Campaigns Officer, and manage our Campaigns Assistant
- Play a key role in the delivery of the campaign, from developing assets to determining the best tactics for each phase.

Disability Advice Service Lambeth (dasl) is Lambeth’s peer-led Disabled People’s Organisation.
We want to appoint a Professional Advocate who shares our ethos and values and is committed to supporting Lambeth residents achieve their legal rights.
dasl have provided an advocacy service for Lambeth Council for 12 years and since 2020 we have played a key role in the Lambeth Advocacy Hub, a single point of access for all statutory independent advocacy services for Lambeth residents aged 16 and over. We manage referrals and enquiries and provide independent Care Act advocacy and a range of non-statutory advocacy.
We provide a high quality service - we hold the Advocacy Quality Performance Mark. You will hold, or be working towards, a qualification such as the Certificate/Diploma in Independent Advocacy (Level 3), or be able to show the necessary skills and relevant experience in a formal or informal advocacy role.

You will be joining us at an exciting time as we set up our new RNID Near You care home service in Somerset. As a Co-ordinator, you will focus and lead on developing and delivering our new care home service across the locality through sessions in care homes to residents, their visitors and staff, we will be offering:
- practical hearing aid support
- information on hearing loss and tinnitus
- hearing checks
You will be responsible for co-ordinating sessions across the region in care home settings and be able to recruit, train and manage a team of up to 30 volunteers to deliver the service across Somerset. You will have responsibility for the set up and running of these sessions and have good local knowledge of Somerset in order to seek new opportunities for delivery of our RNID Near you services.
We are looking to appoint a motivated person with a keen interest in supporting people with their hearing loss. While you will be home based, there will be regular travel to venues where we will provide drop-in clinics in community settings.
You want to make a difference in people’s lives and love to interact with various audiences, including volunteers, health & care professionals and service users. You have experience managing events, your own workload and are able to work evenings/weekends if required. You are able to physically assist clients with hearing aids sensitively, giving clear guidance and taking into account individual wishes and health needs.
You are ready to work for a home-working organisation and have good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word.

To provide support to the Supported internship programmes delivered in partnership across Bromley and Bexley. The role will be within the Supported Internship team to deliver in partnership the various service level agreements. Support will be provided to Interns who have successfully gained employment placements as part of their internship or their post provision placement.
Support will focus on achievement through one-to-one work and building strong relationships with interns, departments and specific teams. You will work closely with the Job coach agency co-ordinator to support employment placements across our employment programmes.
