Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to everyone who is in need of support.
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Young Persons Housing Advisors to join our team based in Hatfield! You will be responsible for providing advice, guidance and support to vulnerable people aged 18-24 years.
How will you make a difference?
You will support vulnerable young people to find or maintain suitable accommodation. This involves setting up and or / sustaining their tenancies thus helping to prevent repeat homelessness. You will provide housing advice and support, including information on the relevant benefits and will assist them to identify other support needs, such as mental health issues.
The young people we support are amazing, inspiring and courageous. The challenges they face can test even the most resilient and they often lack the support needed to see them through difficult times; leaving them stressed, anxious and overwhelmed. What will you be doing?
- Manage a caseload of young people aged 18-24yrs.
- Ensure that all young people work towards an agreed support plan which is regularly reviewed and adapted to ensure that they meet their individual needs and goals.
- Build a professional and trusting relationship with the young people to enable to them to engage with the support and improve their situation and prospects.
- Engage effectively in multi-agency working, developing collaborative relationships and partnerships with relevant staff in a range of agencies to broker and co-ordinate support for young people.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of income related subjects such as benefits, money advice & grants.
- Be hyh’s benefits & money advice specialist, sharing knowledge and providing advice to the teams.
- Take the lead in developing and delivering benefits and/or money advice training.
- Work in partnership with the Catalyst Housing Floating Support staff to provide a consistent service countywide.
- Be ambassador for the charity both internally & externally to further hyh aims whilst protecting and enhancing its reputation.
- Immerse hyh’s values into your professional practice at all times.
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with external agencies and partners to ensure we are a provider of choice.
- Actively participate and provide valued contributions in supervision, team meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
- Work as part of a team by supporting, communicating, and engaging with your colleagues.
- Identify where crisis management is required and liaise with relevant services to ensure the crisis is responded to and prevented where possible.
What can you bring to the team?
- Candidates Must have a full clean driving license and use of own vehicle for business purposes

- Ability to engage and motivate young people, strong interpersonal skills including the ability to be appropriately assertive.
- General administrative skills (filling, record keeping and computer literacy)

- Excellent understanding of confidentially with strict professional boundaries and personal integrity
- Excellent planning, organisational & time management skills
- An understanding of the voluntary sector and the constraints placed upon voluntary sector organisation (desirable)
- Have a flexible working approach to the needs of the service users.
- IT literacy including excel, word, teams and outlook
- Highly motivated with the ability to work using your own initiative and as part of a team

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Edinburgh Skylight as a Receptionist/Administrator in our Edinburgh Skylight Team. You will be there to welcome people who are homeless seeking advice and start the process of helping them to end their homelessness.
You will support the team to manage a busy working environment, welcoming and supporting a range of people including new Skylight members, current members, staff, Crisis volunteers and visitors. You will provide administrative support for this fast and responsive service to those newly presenting as homeless. You will also carry out administration and housekeeping functions relating to the customer service and facilities management of Cranston House. This role is based onsite with no option for homeworking.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be highly organised with experience of working within a reception or administrative support role, as well as experience providing a high standard of customer service. We are looking for someone who understands the issues faced by homeless people and is excited to learn about the ways we can support them. You will be able to deal with challenging situations and individuals with a range of needs, to reach a positive resolution through a calm and confident approach.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully with disadvantaged or socially excluded groups and individuals. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written will be key, as well as working collaboratively within a team. As you will be the first point of contact for many people, you need to be friendly, enjoy helping and be willing to learn about Crisis and all the other activities taking place within the building.

About the role:
As a Recruitment/HR Administrator, you will be joining a small dedicated Recruitment team providing an effective and efficient recruitment service to meet the organisation’s resourcing and staffing needs. About the team
Shelter’s HR Delivery team is part of a Strategic Enablement directorate that brings together core support functions such as HR Delivery, Finance, Tech & Data, Governance, Planning and Property. Our role is to partner, support and advise over 1,300 staff on employee relations issues. We also manage restructures and transfers, employee engagement, reward and recognition, staff development and resourcing and payroll processes and ensure effective HR policies and procedures are developed and evaluated.
About the role
As an HR Services Administrator we’ll rely on you to help the team to deliver a great customer service experience and provide administrative support on HR and Payroll matters to internal and external customers alike. You’ll be a key member of the team that’s the first point of contact with HR via our HR enquiries service desk and phoneline, supports employee lifecycle administration and works closely with the payroll team to ensure delivery against key payroll timescales. Answering queries and signposting to the right answers, keeping our Intranet HR Hub up to date with our policies, completing any contracts and other activity associated with changes as notified by Line Managers and processing data within our HR Information System (we use Access PeopleXD) – all are aspects of this interesting and varied role.

Fantastic opportunity to work in a small friendly team. As Project Lead for APAP's Night Shelter provision you will be responsible for a caseload of clients and the wider management of the Night Shelter project. You will work with clients from assessment, through to placement in our provision and then support them to move beyond homelessness.
We work in partnership to provide single room, 24 hour staffed accommodation to clients in our provision. You will take a lead on maintaining a relationship with the accommodation provider through regular liaison and communication. We are looking for an Assistant Community Manager to join our Community of people recovering from, or experiencing homelessness, The team is small, but very supportive and committed to the residents, ex residents and guests that the community serves. This is an active role for a hands-on person who believes in the potential for community to affect personal change. This is a full time permanent role, mainly based in Kentish Town.
We support our residents through a therapeutic community structure. We aim to offer an accepting framework in which human relationships can be nourished. We work from a main residential house and provide outreach services to those still left on the streets. While and interest and feeling for homelessness issues is vital to the work, other experience of social care settings, therapeutic models and communities are also valuable.

Providing client reception and administrative support to all client services.
Establishing and maintaining client booking systems and appointment allocations across a variety of services.
Communicating information with clients on service availability and eligibility.
Carrying out initial screening for housing appointments.
Accurate record keeping and use of CRM tools (Customer/client Relationship Management).
Attending Homelessness Intervention team meetings.
Checking on client exclusions and alerts on entry to the building.
Registering attendance at the Support Centre.
Operating within organisational health and safety procedure
Build effective, positive relationships with clients maintaining professional boundaries and ground rules.
Dealing with difficult and challenging client behaviour.
Day-to-day management of the client reception, working alongside volunteers and staff to ensure the professional operation of the reception.
Managing correspondence, including phone calls and messages, emails, letters and packages, alongside volunteers.
Managing the storage of confiscated prohibited items from clients and reporting to the correct manager for removal where appropriate.
Support the induction of volunteers to client reception duties, in liaison with the Volunteer Lead.
Perform photocopying and scanning as required.
Support business reception as required.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

The area of Prevention supports vulnerable people by providing them with skills, housing advice, accommodation, and tenancy sustainment support. All the services within the area of prevention work to help people transition towards leading independent lives.
We are looking for an Employment Specialist (Support Worker) to join the Individual Placement and Support Team (IPS). The Lambeth Living Well Network Alliance is a collaboration of organisations Thames Reach; Certitude South London Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Lambeth Council; and South-East London Clinical Commissioning Group. The goal of all organisations is to provide mental health services and support to working age adults in Lambeth.

As an Employment Specialist (Support Worker) you will be responsible for:
- Build relationships and promote the service within clinical teams to generate referrals. Collaborative work with TR staff and other key stakeholders to support service users' employment goals.
- Manage an active caseload where you will work with people to develop vocational profiles and action plans to help people achieve their employment goals.
- Build relationships with diverse employers to source job opportunities.
- Network and develop opportunities to support people to get closer to their employment goals.
- Work collaboratively with the team and partners to deliver a high-quality service that exceeds the job sustainment outcomes.
- Keep accurate data, evidence, and update the case management system, understanding the need for to evidence work.
To succeed as an Employment Specialist (Support Worker), you will need have:
- Knowledge and experience of providing support to people to find employment.
- Be able to initiate and develop relationships with employers and other agencies for the people to access opportunities and overcome barriers to get them closer to employment.
- Empower and motivate people to build the skills and confidence they need to find and keep work.
- Good IT skills and administration - Be effective in recording and reporting data.
