The Citizens Advice service is independent and provides free, confidential, and impartial advice to everybody. All local Citizens Advice services share the same aims - to ensure that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities or the service available to them or through an inability to express their needs effectively.
Formed in 1992, Citizens Advice St Helens was an amalgamation of Newton-le-Willows Citizens Advice Bureau and St Helens Citizens Advice Bureau. Aligned to the nationwide model, Citizens Advice St Helens provides free, independent, confidential, and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. It values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination. Providing advice that people need for the problems they face, CASH also influences and improves the policies and practices that affect people’s lives in their local area. Additionally, you must demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the issues faced by residents in St Helens, such as poverty, unemployment, and health challenges. These issues are not unique to St Helens but are encountered across the UK, and we welcome applications from individuals with experience addressing similar issues in other regions.

Probation Period: Six months
Gross Salary: £49,200 per annum
Location: Fauna & Flora, Cambridge
Over the next five years, Fauna & Flora aspires to enhance its global impact through investment, growth, visibility and influence. An essential part of this will be through greatly expanding awareness and visibility of its programmes among UK and global target audiences and by exponentially increasing its fundraising efforts and results.
A key and growing audience for Fauna & Flora in the UK and globally is high net worth individuals and corporates, and specifically those who are willing to give high value unrestricted support to our global conservation work. As a result, we are launching a transformational fundraising plan to 2030, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Philanthropy Adviser to help us meet our ambitious targets, securing high value donations from our existing networks and helping us to reach out to new contacts and networks to build our pipeline for support.
You will be focussed on developing a portfolio of high value supporters in the UK, but you will also develop strong working relationships across high value fundraising activities in the USA and Australia, as well as more widely across the fundraising communications teams, and also with senior leadership including the CEO and with our volunteers including trustees.
To this end we are seeking a self-motivated individual to join our Philanthropy team in this role. The role requires an individual with passion and drive to inspire and motivate donors to give significant funding to our cause, but also with the ability to listen and understand prospect motivations, in order to build lasting relationships. You will have expert technical and professional skills in major donor fundraising and a proven ability to develop fundraising strategy for high level donors.
Your key focus in this role is on building and maintaining high-value donor relationships, and you will be supported in this by our expert Research & Insight team, providing donor and prospect research and briefings and inputting into strategy, and our expert Philanthropy Engagement team, who develop and manage various engagement opportunities for major supporter and prospects, from events, trips and newsletters to bespoke proposals and reports.
You will enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where the ability to respond swiftly to changing organisational and team needs is paramount. In return, we offer the opportunity to work for a ground-breaking organisation at the forefront of global conservation, with generous pension contribution, attractive annual leave allowance, and life insurance.
Our offices are located in The David Attenborough Building in central Cambridge, just a few minutes’ walk from glorious historic buildings and museums, the picturesque River Cam, the central market and shopping centre, and a host of cafés and restaurants

Are you looking for a change in career that can offer you flexible working in an interesting purpose driven role?
We’re the Portman Group, the UK’s self-regulatory body for alcohol marketing and we are looking for someone to provide advice and training to the alcohol industry on our marketing rules. We have two Codes of Practice: the Naming, Packaging and Promotion of Alcoholic Drinks and the Alcohol Sponsorship Code. Each Code outlines a set of responsible marketing rules that the alcohol industry must abide by. Our primary purpose as a regulator is to protect those who are vulnerable, particularly those who are under-18.
No previous experience of working in the alcohol industry or marketing regulation is necessary as full training will be provided.
Why you?
We’re interested to hear from candidates who have experience in training, learning and development or stakeholder engagement.
We’re specifically looking for someone who has the ability to speak to groups of people with a personable, informative style whilst teaching delegates the basics of responsible marketing in the alcohol industry. We’re also looking for someone who can provide clear written advice to companies on how products and promotions may be viewed under our Codes of Practice. We’re the only organisation of our kind in the UK which is why we are looking for individuals with transferable skills that we can train up on the specifics of the role.
Why us?
We’re a small organisation with a big mission and we recognise the importance of a work/life balance. We can offer flexibility and understand that this looks different for each candidate. We’re open to considering those who would like part time or compressed hours. At a minimum, we need someone to work three days a week spread across the week but there is scope for four days or a schedule that works around school hours for the right candidate.
Our office is based in Borough High Street and we currently work Tuesday/Wednesday in the office, with Monday, Thursday and Friday working from home. The nature of this role means that you will sometimes have to travel to deliver a training session in person which you can schedule within your work hours. With the shift to hybrid working, a large amount of our training is delivered virtually online.
You’d be joining an organisation with an important mission where protecting those under-18 plays a significant role in our regulatory work.

· Can be part time if requested (minimum of 3 days a week but open to flexi hours)
· Flexible working split typically between London Bridge office and working from home (for the right candidate we are open to discussing working from home with occasional travel for team days)
· 28 days annual leave per annum (pro rata) plus Christmas office closure
· Private Healthcare
· Season ticket loan.
