The role

The Head of Practice leads on best practice and practice development across Business Disability Forum. This includes leading and overseeing the work of the Advice Service to support our members and Partners and acting as the primary referral point for complex queries, collating and sharing best practice from within our membership and the impact of BDF best practice advice. They will also lead the delivery of the BDF internal upskilling programme to ensure that all Member and Partner facing teams are at the forefront of best practice in delivering high quality advice and support.

They will also work closely with the Content Team to ensure that BDF’s resources reflect the latest best practice and with the Policy Team to ensure BDF’s advice and resources reflect the latest policy and research thinking and to maintain our position as thought leaders.

The requirement

• Experience of leading and managing experts on diversity and inclusion related situations and of motivating.
• A demonstrable track record of relationship building at a senior level leading to tangible results.
• Experience of providing consultancy, training and advice on disability related issues.
• Experience of presenting to senior management and the board.
• Experience of working in human resources, talent management, or organisation development to at least adviser level.
• High level of understanding and knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and recent disability related case law in the UK and Globally.
• Knowledge of disability best practice, topical issues within disability rights and policy and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Community Advice Works is an established community charity based in New Cross in South
East London. As the only charity in the London Borough of Lewisham offering a general
drop-in advice service, we are a critical source of support to vulnerable residents. We have
built a strong reputation within the Borough for providing high quality, independent, person-
centred welfare and housing advice. The organisation employs several part-time staff and
has a team of volunteers. In addition to providing advice we currently deliver a domestic
violence project at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital.

looking for an experienced and community-driven individual with a strong set of managerial
and interpersonal skills, preferably with a background in advice work, to maintain the strong
structures and reputation for excellence that we have developed.

As service manager, you will work with our friendly staff and trustee team to deliver our vital

Key duties

• Staff and volunteer management
• Line manage staff by providing support and supervision as needed, conducting regular performance reviews, and identifying staff training needs
• Oversee recruitment, training, and management of volunteers to ensure they are properly supported and equipped to help meet CAW’s service goals

Service delivery

• Ensure high quality and timely service delivery in line with the Service Level Agreements with our various service partners

• Compile and maintain accurate statistics on service performance to share with funders and CAW trustees

• Ensure day-to-day administrative processes are functioning smoothly, and that necessary policies and procedures are up to date

Fundraising and Marketing

• Help identify new funding and other revenue-raising opportunities
• Support the work of the fundraising sub-committee in preparing funding applications
• Work with trustees and external vendors to ensure CAW website is kept up-to-date
• Work with trustees and external vendors (as appropriate) to develop a social media presence for CAW
• Identifying and supporting efforts to increase CAW’s profile in the local community and to build relationships with key local stakeholders as appropriate Governance

Ruils is a user-led charity that supports disabled adults and people with long-term health and/or mental health conditions to live independently, be part of their community and live life to the full. New Routes Integration

Since 2003 New Routes has been working with, and supporting, refugees, asylum seekers and isolated migrants in Norwich to support their wellbeing and ambitions by providing skill-building and social programmes in a safe and welcoming environment.  Principle purpose of the post:

The Operations Manager will work closely with the Chief Executive supporting on contractual service delivery (including the management of risk), quality and improvement across the organisation and ensure quality services are provided. This will be informed and implemented by ensuring that our participants have appropriate methods to inform programme delivery routinely.

Are you a proactive Operations Manager wanting to work with a charity?

We are proud to be partnering with a great national organisation that supports people in the community. They provide free, independent, impartial, and confidential advice on a variety of issues. They are looking for an Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of the organisation and a suitable environment for the delivery of services on a full-time basis (35 hours a week) in their SW3 office, initially for 6 months with a possibility of becoming permanent.

You will be responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of the workplace, including managing all office facilities, liaising contractors to ensure that the premises comply with legal obligations, sourcing and maintaining equipment, liaising with the IT provider to resolve IT issues, and updating the office manual. You will also contribute to the development of policies, update contracts and agreements, and support improvements to their service. You will organise a variety of meetings, including assisting with the preparation of agendas, circulation of meeting papers and record minutes as required. You will also provide recruitment administrative support and maintain accurate records on the Bright HR software.

This role requires operations and office management experience. As Employee Experience Partner, you'll be a strategic enabler to both the organisation and People Team, responsible for creating innovative, sustainable interventions that look to evolve the individual and group employee experience (EX) for our people for now and for our future workforce. 

Accountable for the end-to-end evaluation and improvement of the EX-journey, you'll work closely and proactively with stakeholders across the organisation to identify, deliver and review the impact of key EX initiatives that align with our People, Organisation's, and DEI strategies.

Leading customer-centric process design and engaging with colleagues to agree improvement activities driven by data, you'll play a key role in enabling teams to improve the ‘moments that matter' for our employees.

You'll also hold accountability for delivering “Your Voice”, SCUK's quarterly engagement survey, gathering employee feedback via Peakon (our survey partner) and analysing that data to identify trends and areas for improvement, as well as building on our employee data proposition, to identify and connect the relevant metrics to help us understand engagement, behaviour, and performance.

In this role, you will:

• Be responsible for the leadership and implementation of cross-divisional and organisation wide projects in the EX arena, to diagnose, design and implement a variety of solutions based on data and insights.
• Provide leadership and act as the role model on all matters relating to EX, especially enabling People Team colleagues to understand the employee journey and how they can contribute and support associated plans to become a reality for the organisation.

Join our team as a Volunteering Business Partner! You will play a pivotal role across all stages of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association’s volunteer journey, ensuring our amazing volunteers have a sector-leading experience.

Your role is all about supporting, developing, and implementing effective volunteer practices throughout the Association. You'll offer expert guidance and support to staff across the organisation, ensuring our volunteers are led and managed to the highest standards. You will work in partnership with staff and volunteers to develop plans to recruit new volunteers and ensure our existing volunteers can make a meaningful impact for people living with and affected by MND.

Innovation and improvement are key aspects of this role. Engaging with volunteers, staff, and stakeholders, you'll identify areas of improvement, develop tools and approaches that enhance the experience for volunteers and the staff who lead them.
