KVA is in its second year of delivering the Infrastructure Support Contract awarded by the Royal Borough of Kingston.
Together with our VCSE Sector Development Manager, internal team and external partners, you will ensure that KVA offers an ambitious and innovative capacity building programme for Kingston community and voluntary sector organisations.
We are looking for an experienced capacity building officer with a wide skillset and a track record of achieving outcomes for local communities by undertaking hands-on work with VCSE organisations of all sizes and structures, including, but not limited to support with fundraising, ability to better demonstrate their impact, develop policies and procedures and set up and run a charity or community organisation.
You will have a problem-solving approach, with patience, good listening skills, but also ability to be a critical friend when needed.

Job Purpose
Money Minded: Professional advice and support because your mental health matters
Money Minded is a new service designed to support adults, (18 years and over) in Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow. The service provides support with welfare benefits, accessing debt support, housing and well-being/peer support groups/workshops.
The role of the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will be to provide advice, guidance and customer representation to tri-borough Residents living with Mental Health difficulties. Advice issues may include, housing, benefits, council tax, accessing debt support, signposting etc.
The successful candidate will deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals, as agreed with the Service Manager. In addition to advice casework, the Mental Health Information and Advice Officer will also be expected to assist onboarding referrals to the service, as and when needed.
The successful candidate will be required to work alongside the Team Leader and volunteers supporting on the project, within the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS) and adhere to Mind’s policies and procedures.
Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed, prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.

What's the role about?

Key Duties:

Our Helpline runs from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic, warm and experienced individual to support our dedicated Helpline Volunteers and Befriending Volunteers within the Helpline team.
This role requires working flexible hours, including 9am–5pm, 10am–6pm or 11am–7pm between Monday to Friday to meet services and volunteer needs (3 days a week).
If you’re passionate about offering high quality information and emotional support and have relevant Helpline experience, we’d love to hear from you.
You will be providing continuous support to all our volunteers at the Helpline team, directly contributing in providing information and support to our Helpline enquirers, with both proactive and reactive content and information on prevalent topics or trends affecting the MS community.

As a Support and Advocacy Officer you will join a skilled team who collectively provide a unique UK-wide support and advocacy service to over 1500 members.
You will primarily provide direct support and practical guidance to our Fabry members. This patient group is largely adult focused but there will be elements of family and child support. You will raise awareness within both the Fabry community and external agencies; and contribute to the development of resources, to promote self-advocacy within the patient group. A key objective of the role will be to build a sense of community and identity for our Fabry membership.
