JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good. The Campaigns Team develops strategy, creates plans and manages campaigns on issues and policy to influence key stakeholders and build public support to create systemic change and eliminate child hunger for good.
We are looking for a Campaigns Officer to join our small team to support the Campaigns Manager design, deliver and evaluate integrated and impactful campaigns in support of Magic Breakfast’s policy and advocacy objectives, including the designing, resourcing and creation of meaningful actions to communicate key messages to decision-makers, the media, supporters and the public.
You will be joining our campaigning work at a crucial point as we aim to grow our campaigner base, mobilise more people and carry out strategic campaigns within the context of an approaching general election and beyond with the new government. The role will work closely with colleagues across the Department and organisation to increase the impact of our advocacy messages and campaigns.

We’re looking for a new Community Rail Support Officer based in southern England and the Midlands, to support our network of community rail partnerships (CRPs) and station adoption groups.
About us
Community Rail Network is a not-for-profit organisation, working across Britain, supporting a growing ‘community rail’ movement, which helps communities get the most from their railways, promotes sustainable and inclusive travel, coordinates volunteering and place-making, and brings people together.
Community rail is made up of 75 community-based partnership organisations, and around 1,200 station friends volunteer groups and other community-led initiatives around Britain. Their activities range from creative projects for young people, to advising train operators on service improvements, to building travel confidence with families and disabled people, to biodiversity projects at stations, to promoting greener travel and tourism by rail.
Our enthusiastic team of 22 works mainly from home in different locations, but we come together regularly in person and online. We work collaboratively to advise our members, provide training, events and resources, run campaigns, and champion community rail and its insights via decision-makers and the media. About this role
The purpose of this role is to provide support and advice to community rail partnerships and groups in the South of England and Midlands, on working effectively and delivering maximum benefit to their communities and railways.
You’ll be comfortable engaging and advising local groups and communities to extend existing and set up new initiatives, and to reach wider audiences with an evidence-led, place-based approach. As well as supporting local groups, you’ll work closely with the rail industry, and wider third and public sector partners to ensure collaboration and shared success.
Main responsibilities
- Provide direct support and advice to CRPs and their officers, and other community rail groups in the region. This includes responding to queries and requests, passing on specialist queries to other members of the team, and providing proactive support through our accreditation review process and as set out in our plans;
- Support the development of skills, confidence and effectiveness across the network of CRPs and station groups, helping them to increase their positive social, environmental and economic impact, including through referral to our training, events and resources;
- Support the development of emerging community rail partnerships, station friend groups and community-led stations and railway-related projects in the region;
- Helping our members to work effectively with rail, transport, local government and community partners, supporting effective relationship building and showing positive leadership and insights on community rail within the region;
- Work with the Support Manager on delivery and monitoring of our grant schemes, and support CRPs and groups in the region to apply, deliver successfully and report back on funded work;
- Gather and share examples, feedback and insights from our members across the region, to facilitate best practice sharing and confidence across community rail and to feed into our communications, resources, events and public affairs work;
- As a member of the Community Rail Network team, participate and contribute to our wider work as relevant, such as Community Rail Week, our annual conference and Awards.
Skills, competencies and experience
- Skills in in supporting community engagement projects; an understanding of and confidence in using community engagement, local communications, project planning and evaluation techniques
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently with stakeholders at all levels and facilitate positive discussion; articulate and assertive
- Excellent writing and presentational skills
- Awareness of sustainable transport and social inclusion, and an appreciation of the importance of rail, sustainable travel and mobility to communities

Other information
- This post is home-based, but with regular travel (including overnight stays) within the south of England and Midlands, and nationally for team meetings
- The Community Rail Support Officer reports to the Support Manager within the Support and Development team
- Hours are 37 hours per week. A degree of flexibility and out-of-hours working (evenings and weekends) will be required, together with some travel and overnight absences
- This is a permanent position and includes a probationary period of three months from the date of appointment

Voice4Change England is recruiting for an Infrastructure and Development Officer who will effectively manage outreach and consultation with BME organisations and communities across London. We are looking for a proactive, motivated and outgoing person to join our Infrastructure and Development Team.
You will be passionate about social justice and addressing inequalities, can assess community needs and deliver infrastructure support addressing under-funding, and help to build sustainability and resilience in London BME groups as well as help groups develop opportunities for greater impact.

Job purpose and key responsibilities
As per our 2030 Vision, CARE and our partners aim to support 200 million people from the most vulnerable and excluded communities to overcome poverty and social injustice. This role sits within CARE International UK’s Programme Funding Team, which is critical to the achievement of CARE’s vision as we lead high-quality bidding processes with UK-based institutional donors and large foundations.
As a Programme Development Officer, you will play a key role in the delivery of CIUK’s donor diversification strategy seeking to secure funding from and strengthen CIUK’s relationships with non-FCDO donors. The post-holder will lead proposal development processes for accountable grants up to £1.5M. You will also work with other programme development specialists to contribute to the programme design and proposal submissions for larger or more complex programmes such as those funded by FCDO or the European Commission.
The post holder will work closely with technical teams, CARE Country Offices and other partners to identify and monitor exciting funding opportunities, and which showcase CARE’s programme innovation, and which deliver impact as well as full cost recovery for CIUK. Senior Youth Participation Officer
Fitzrovia Youth in Action is looking for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic person for our Senior Youth Participation Officer role. If you feel like this is you, we would love to hear from you!
The post holder will coordinate and develop our new young people drop-in programme and additional youth action programmes, aimed at engaging local young people into the work of FYA. The successful candidate will oversee the development and delivery of the drop-in sessions, as well as deliver some youth led social action programmes. The role will include recruiting young people, engaging them in co-producing fun and creative activities and workshops which will take place at the drop-ins, as well as supporting them in planning and delivering the social action programmes.
Typically, sessions will occur Sundays (TBC) and young people from the ages 8 to 18 will attend. We are also planning to start a second drop-in session from September, which is likely to run on a Friday evening.
The post holder will support young people to plan some social action programmes directly, as well as support young people into other youth-led community action programmes at FYA.
Examples of projects include youth-led football tournaments, street parties and festivals and peer education activities.
This is an exciting opportunity for FYA as we are elated to have our first drop-in session at our Warren Centre, as we want to reach as many local young people as possible and provide opportunities of social action and support.

About the role: You will be the first point of contact for victims/survivors of domestic abuse. Our Welfare Officers provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family. As a trusted and confidential source of support, you will assist our service users with challenges they are facing, from mental ill-health, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, financial and cost-of-living concerns, resettlement, housing, childcare, equality issues, bereavement, military discharge or deployment and many more - no day will be the same, as such this is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Welfare sector.

· External and internal team communications, including social media, team website and intranet content, responses to enquiries from the public.

Media Defence is a charity that helps journalists defend their rights. We support independent media, journalists and bloggers who are under legal threat by making sure that lawyers are available to defend them. We engage in strategic litigation to improve the regulatory environment for media freedom, make grants to organisations in various countries to run media defence programmes, support individual journalists facing legal action by covering their lawyers' fees, and build the capacity of the lawyers and organisations we work with on issues of media law. Media Defence was set up in 2008 and has established itself as a leader in the field.
Role Summary
The Grants Officer plays a key role at Media Defence, administering the grants that Media Defence makes to partner organisations, helping assess grant applications, and helping with communications via social media and through other channels.
As Grants Officer, you will also manage and administer Media Defence’s financial grants and non-financial support to journalists facing legal action and identify new potential grantees.
You will be flexible and creative, have exceptional communication skills and a good understanding of the realities faced by lawyers and journalists operating in various regions of the world, including under repressive regimes.
Main Responsibilities
Grants Management:
- Manage Media Defence’s grant support work
- Manage Media Defence’s block grant and individual emergency defence grant application processes, including assessment of applications and project proposals, proposal development, preparation of final recommendation for approval by Board and others
- Manage grant award process, including contracting, setting of KPIs and reporting requirements
- Monitoring of awarded grants, including tracking developments in litigation, assessment of partner/grantee reports and grant compliance; financial oversight of grants and grant budgets; provision of additional support as may be required by grantees
- Ensure smooth running of Media Defence’s grant making and administration of Media Defence’s grants database
- Act as lead contact in relationships with grantees throughout the process
Other:
- Undertake and support partner / grant assessment /evaluations and country mapping visits as may be required
- Support the work of the Development cluster by providing material for news stories and accurate information for knowledge management
- Assist Media Defence's team members in ensuring data related to Media Defence's block and individual grants is provided in a timely manner for use in grant/case reporting, communications material, funding applications and reports
- Support the Finance and Operations Director with periodic review and update of grantee terms and conditions
- Monitor the situation of press freedom with outreach to individuals and organisations where appropriate
- Act as one of the primary conduits between Media Defence and networks of NGOs in the sector
- Represent Media Defence at external events and meetings
- Identify and carry out any other duties which fall within the scope, spirit and purpose of the post as requested
Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience of working for a ‘not for profit’ and in a human rights environment
- Strong proven project management skills and experience of delivering successful projects
- Proven experience of grant making administration and the process of grant making
- Ability to analyse and synthesise complex information quickly and effectively
- Competent IT user including Microsoft Office Packages, internet and email
- Ability to work creatively and flexibly in a small team, supporting other colleagues, and with a strong commitment to learning and improvement
- Excellent written and spoken English, good editorial skills and the ability to communicate with diverse communities
- Experience of working with, and relating to, a diverse range of people and a pleasant, diplomatic manner and disposition in interacting with colleagues at all levels, as well as with partners
- Proven track record of an organised and methodical approach to work, combining numerical accuracy with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with databases
Desirable
- Good working knowledge (spoken and written) of Arabic, French, Russian or Spanish would be an advantage

We are looking for a passionate and motivated individual to join Positive East as our new Fundraising Officer. This is a key and varied role that sits within the charity’s busy Fundraising Team. You will report directly to the Head of Fundraising and Communications and work closely with the Trusts and Foundations Manager.
You will be responsible for identifying potential new sources of grant funding from charitable trusts and foundations and steward a portfolio of small grants funders. You will also lead on the development of smaller grant proposals and reports, contributing to the wider ambitions of the fundraising team and providing support when needed to achieve annual targets.
As part of this role, you will also lead on the development and the day-to-day management of our social media presence and digital communications and explore new ways to engage audiences as well as with our individual donors.
