We are looking for a compassionate, committed and motivated person with lived experience of HIV to provide peer support to people living with HIV across South London hospital HIV services.

This role will support people who are newly diagnosed through Emergency Department opt-out testing, people who are returning to HIV care, and people who may need extra support to stay connected to treatment and services. You will offer a safe, respectful and non-judgemental space where people can talk openly about their experiences, build confidence, and feel less alone.

Using your own lived experience in a thoughtful and boundaried way, you will support people to understand their diagnosis, navigate HIV care, and identify what matters most to them. You will work alongside each person to understand their needs, develop a support plan, and help them access the right practical, emotional and specialist support.

You will work closely with HIV clinic teams, peer support colleagues, advice and advocacy services, and other partners to make sure people living with HIV receive timely, inclusive and culturally competent support that helps them feel informed, empowered and able to live well.

Rainbow Migration, the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system, is recruiting a Policy and Public Affairs Manage. The Policy and Public Affairs Manager will join our management team and lead on developing our policy positions and engaging with parliament and government.

Responsibilities will include:

Role overview

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week); working part-time (minimum 21 hours) will be considered. Occasional work in the evenings and at weekends will be required but with plenty of notice. Rainbow Migration encourages staff to maintain a good work life balance and has a TOIL system in place.

Salary: Starting at £46,000 with a potential step increase each year up to £51,253 (pro rata if working part time), plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. We also try to give a separate inflationary increase every April.

Location: Remote or from Rainbow Migration’s step-free offices which are based in London between Vauxhall and the Oval. Hybrid working will also be considered and can be agreed with the line manager as per our hybrid working policy. The successful candidate could work from anywhere in the UK but would be expected to occasionally travel to London and other parts of the country for meetings and events. Annual Leave: Initially 25 days per year. After two years of employment, this will increase by one day per year up to a maximum of 28 days (pro rata if working part-time).

We are looking for motivated, value-driven advocates to join a new, innovative community-based Gender-Based Abuse service in Southwark. This is not a traditional domestic abuse support role. You will support people of all genders affected by gender-based abuse and help shape a service built around prevention, creativity, and community voice. The ethos of the service is to ensure that we are front facing and out in the community to meet clients in spaces that are safe and accessible, as well as our offices.

The Role

We are looking for three people in total:

2 x IGVAs: You will work directly with people in community settings, carrying out risk and needs assessments, creating safety plans, and using trauma-informed and coaching approaches. You’ll be part of a fast-paced, dynamic team working in new and flexible ways.

1 x ISVA: You will work with individuals impacted by sexual abuse and VAWG.

As this is a community-based role, candidates will need to be flexible, confident working across different settings, and understand how to be engaging and approachable.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As we grow, we are looking to recruit a Policy & Advocacy Manager to join the Communications team.

As our ideal candidate you will need to be in commuting distance to our Leeds warehouse, meaning you can travel regularly to meet with the team. This is a hybrid role based between the Leeds warehouse and home, and regular travel to other locations will be required to attend meetings, conferences and other such activities related to policy and advocacy. As such, you will need to have a full UK driving license and access to your own car.

You will be someone who has strong experience in the field of policy and advocacy, with a proven track-record of engaging and influencing a range of external audiences and political stakeholders, such as MPs and councillors.

Alongside your relevant skills and experience, we’ll be looking to see that you have a genuine care for our mission and, as such, are self-motivated to do a great job and be a values-led member of our team.

Ideally, you’ll have experience in a charity/NGO or social policy sector, due to some of the specialities that come with this. However, charity experience is not essential if you can demonstrate an appetite and track record for continual learning and development across your working life to date.

This senior leadership position is pivotal to our mission, overseeing the strategic direction and delivery of our work to transform the systems that impact refugee learners. 

The Head of Education Change leads Pillar 3: Education Change, the branch of REUK dedicated to systemic transformation. Currently, the UK education systems lack overarching policy frameworks to support the integration of refugee learners, and there are key evidence gaps in what works best in education for refugee children. School leaders and teachers want to help, but lack the needed training and support. Good practice is often hidden and the expertise of young refugees is not considered in policy making.

As the Head of Education Change, you will be responsible for bridging these gaps. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to influence national policies, improve educational practices, and ensure that the expertise of young refugees is at the heart of decision-making. Your remit will span research and policy, advocacy, youth leadership, and training/capacity building to ensure that the good practice currently hidden in pockets of the UK becomes the standard across the board. This is a role for a strategic and humble leader who believes in working with, not just for, those with lived experience.

We are looking for a postholder able to operate from and maintain a posture of hope that things can and must be better for children and young people whose lives have been torn apart by war, and who is able to bridge divides in order to communicate how much this matters.

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.

Job Purpose

You will provide leadership for MAG’s global advocacy and influencing work, ensuring engagement with political, institutional, and sector stakeholders is focused, coordinated, and aligned with organisational priorities.

The Head of Advocacy will lead the development and delivery of MAG’s advocacy strategy across key geographies and fora, including national governments, multilateral institutions, and sector networks. The role ensures that MAG’s policy positions are translated into clear and targeted influencing approaches, and that advocacy activity supports organisational objectives.

Working closely with the Director of Policy and Strategic Partnerships, the Head of Policy, and colleagues across MAG, the role strengthens MAG’s external influence and ensures a coordinated approach across teams and regions.

 Advocacy Leadership and Strategy

• Lead the development and delivery of MAG’s global advocacy strategy, aligned with organisational priorities and policy positions
• Identify priority targets, geographies, and influencing opportunities across national, regional, and multilateral contexts
• Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on advocacy opportunities, risks, and positioning

External Engagement and Representation

• Represent MAG at senior level with governments, multilateral institutions, and sector networks
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and advocacy peers across priority geographies
• Lead MAG’s engagement in relevant advocacy fora, including parliamentary, multilateral, and sector spaces
• Support senior MAG staff to engage effectively with advocacy targets

Delivery of Advocacy and Influencing

• Oversee the design and delivery of advocacy initiatives that support MAG’s objectives
• Ensure the development of high-quality advocacy materials, including briefings and messaging
• Ensure advocacy activity is coordinated across MAG and aligned with organisational priorities

Advocacy Management and Internal Coherence

• Provide leadership and line management to the Advocacy Manager and wider advocacy function
• Conduct appraisal meetings in line with MAG policy, agreeing and reviewing progress towards individual targets on a regular basis.
• Ensure clear planning and prioritisation of advocacy activities
• Strengthen internal understanding of advocacy priorities and approaches
• Ensure consistency of messaging across advocacy, policy, communications, and programme engagement
• Sector Engagement and Positioning
• Build and maintain relationships with advocacy peers and coalitions across the humanitarian and disarmament sectors
• Influence sector advocacy agendas in line with MAG’s priorities and expertise

Management

• Contribute to PSP planning and organisational strategy
• Support business planning and programme development
• Manage resources in line with agreed priorities
• Provide updates to the Director of Policy and Strategic Partnerships
• Deputise as required

Requirements

Essential Experience

• Significant experience in advocacy, influencing, or external engagement in humanitarian, development, or related sectors
• Experience engaging with political stakeholders, including governments and/or multilateral institutions
• Experience developing and delivering advocacy strategies or influencing initiatives
• Experience producing high-quality advocacy materials and briefings
• Experience working collaboratively across teams and with external partners

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Strong understanding of political and influencing processes across relevant geographies and institutions
• Understanding of humanitarian, disarmament, or related policy environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong relationship management and influencing skills
• Ability to identify and respond to emerging opportunities in dynamic political contexts

Benefits

Remuneration

The starting salary will be £56,220, based on a 37.5 hour working week. MAG has a system of incremental pay increases, up to a limit, based on length of service in the role. Further information will be provided to the successful candidate.
