Kingston Hospital Charity is the dedicated charity for Kingston & Richmond NHS Foundation Trust. Working closely with clinicians and teams across Kingston Hospital and local community services, we raise and steward charitable funds to enhance care and the experience of patients and their loved ones—above and beyond what NHS funding alone can provide. Our support helps create welcoming, healing environments, invest in innovation and technology, and strengthen staff wellbeing and development so that exceptional care can be delivered every day. Relaunched in 2017, the charity brings together grateful patients and families, community groups, businesses, trusts and philanthropists who want to make a tangible difference for local healthcare.

About the role

The Charity Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for Kingston Hospital Charity. Reporting to the Board, the postholder will lead the charity’s growth, profile and impact, ensuring charitable income is maximised to enhance patient care, staff wellbeing and innovation beyond core NHS funding. There is a real focus on securing major gifts to successfully deliver trust strategic priorities and other funding opportunities as well as expanding the charities’ reach and impact.

Key responsibilities include:

• Setting and delivering the charity’s long-term vision and strategy
• Leading income generation across fundraising, partnerships, philanthropy and grant funding
• Building strong relationships with clinicians, NHS trust leadership, donors and community stakeholders
• Ensuring excellent governance, financial stewardship and regulatory compliance
• Leading and developing a high-performing charity team
• Acting as a senior ambassador and advocate for the charity locally and regionally

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a senior fundraising leader to lead a small but ambitious charity team and drive income growth. You will need:

• Senior leadership experience in charities, fundraising or a relevant sector
• A strong track record of income growth and strategic development
• Experience in building relationships with high-net-worth individuals
• Outstanding stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• Credibility operating at the Board and executive level
• Commercial acumen combined with a strong values-led approach
• Passion for improving healthcare outcomes and patient experience

We are looking for a highly skilled Modern Slavery Safehouse Advocate with excellent communication skills, compassion and understanding of the impact of abuse and exploitation.

We are looking for an innovative candidate who has experience of working with adults, who have experienced trauma and abuse.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving and developing their leadership skills.

The Role:

The successful candidate will provide a high-quality frontline service to both female and male victims of Modern Slavery (international human trafficking) and their children within the West Midlands area. You will be involved in all aspects of case management including: risk assessment, needs assessment, journey planning, outcomes and case review when supporting clients through their recovery and reflection period. You will also be involved in all aspects of accommodation, including; health and safety, requesting maintenance support, ensuring fire safety etc.

We are looking for someone with experience of supporting victims/survivors of domestic abuse, managing a caseload and understanding the principles of safeguarding children and adults. The post holder will have a good understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and how this can affect victims.

The Role:

Our Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA) provide a high quality frontline domestic abuse support service to those at high risk of harm. As an IDVA, you will support victims of domestic abuse to assess level of risk, inform victims of their options and develop tailored safety plans to protect the victim and their children. You will work within a multi-agency framework to advocate for the victim, including responding and reporting to Multi-agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) on behalf of the victim.

The role also supports the empowerment of victims/survivors, assisting them to recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse present in their own situation through one to one support and group work, to help them regain control of their lives.

Money & Energy Adviser
FTE salary: £28,000 FTE
Pro rata salary: £18400 (23 hour week)
Home-based, with travel as required
23 hours per week

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced welfare benefits advisor with a passion for sharing knowledge and supporting vulnerable people.

This post is providing maternity cover until 31 December 2026 – or until the early return of the substantive postholder.

With around 4 in 10 beneficiaries, we support seeking help with financial difficulties, this is a pivotal role for Kidney Care UK.

You will be working remotely providing income maximisation and energy advice and support for kidney patients in the UK, supporting them to achieve better financial security. Working closely with Patient Support & Advocacy Officers, provide informed and compassionate support to provide excellent outcomes for our beneficiaries.

Our external partners – British Gas Energy Trust have committed to fund our Money and Energy Service until March 2027. We anticipate confirmation by December 2026 whether funding will be extended beyond March 2027.

About the Money & Energy Advice Service
The Money & Energy Advice Service (MEAS) provides information and support for welfare benefits and income maximisation and promotes awareness of efficient energy use. Working closely with Patient Support officers, MEAS provides specialist knowledge and directly supports clients to achieve sustainable financial outcomes. The service was established in 2023 with the support of British Gas Energy Trust and is embedded as a valued element of the many ways Kidney Care UK supports people affected by kidney failure.
