We are looking for an experienced Debt Caseworker to join our team and help meet the growing demand for debt and income‑maximisation advice within our service. In this role, you will guide and empower clients to understand their options, while also taking direct action on behalf of those who are particularly vulnerable. This includes negotiating with creditors to prevent escalation and protect clients from further financial harm.

You will assess each client’s situation in depth, identifying the most appropriate strategies to resolve their debt issues while exploring every opportunity to maximise income. Through practical support and casework, you will take the necessary steps to halt creditor action, prepare accurate financial statements, make repayment offers, and apply strategies to reduce, write off and manage debt effectively. Alongside this, you will provide budgeting guidance to help clients regain control of their finances and build long‑term stability. Your ability to work confidently with third parties—including local authorities, bailiffs, landlords and lenders—will be essential in preventing enforcement action and resolving arrears.

Role Purpose

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides strategic and operational leadership across all frontline services, accommodation provision, organisational infrastructure, and compliance functions within the charity.

The COO is responsible for ensuring safe, trauma-informed, financially sustainable, and outcomes-focused delivery for individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, health exclusion, addiction, and crisis.

The role leads operations across the charity’s accommodation portfolio, including winter shelter provision, general needs accommodation, supported accommodation, and intensively supported housing. The COO also oversees the operational platform of the charity’s support programmes, including a community café, community supermarket, crisis drop-in provision, and integrated health clinics.

The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community supporting unaccompanied minors who have experienced human rights abuses and are seeking asylum, refugee status and settlement in the United Kingdom.

The role of a Therapeutic Community Caseworker at the Baobab Centre is to support unaccompanied asylum seeking and refugee adolescents and young adults to access care, basic rights and entitlements and to support their social development and rehabilitation.This role involves working closely with the clinical key worker of each young person and with our wider multidisciplinary team. As a Caseworker you will aim to empower individuals to build stable, independent lives in the UK, including by supporting them to communicate their views, needs and experiences in decision-making processes, and supporting them to make challenges when necessary. Baobab aims to be a non-residential therapeutic community with a holistic and integrated perspective.As a Caseworker, you will play a key role within our multidisciplinary team. Our team work together with each other and with agencies and key individuals in young people’s lives, both within and outside of Baobab. Care4Calais (C4C) is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in northern France and the UK. We support through on-the-ground assistance, and advocate for a fair asylum system - including safe routes to the UK with refugee rights on arrival.

We work alongside people seeking safety to ensure access to daily essentials, and fill gaps where state support is not provided. We are here for everyone attempting to navigate the complexities of claiming asylum in the UK - providing access to justice, and practical, welcoming support. We also communicate to the public the need for action in support of refugees. Our vision is an inclusive society where people seeking safety have a safe home and a bright future free from inequality.

In northern France we operate year round from Calais, providing warm clothing, shoes, shelter, services, and assistance to refugees living in appalling conditions.

Across the UK we collect and distribute clothes and other essential items, and provide social support and interaction including language lessons, sport and music workshops. We also help with vital access to legal, medical and educational services. We are a community with the shared goals of creating a just asylum system, and a fair and welcoming society for all refugees.

Our work involves organising successful campaigns against racist UK government policies, such as the Rwanda plan and the use of barracks as accommodation for people seeking sanctuary.

All of Care4Calais' operations are supported by a small, dedicated staff team, who supervise large volunteer teams to provide critical support to asylum seekers and people on the move in both the UK and France.

About the role

The UK Operations team provides essential psychosocial support to people seeking safety through practical services; such as running distributions, delivering English classes and drop ins, as well as activities to promote wellbeing such as trips and sports activities.

The UK Field Operations Manager will be responsible for managing our operations in London, working as part of the UK Field Operations Team to support large teams of grassroots volunteers to provide essential support to people seeking safety. 

You will need to onboard and motivate volunteers through continuous engagement and support to ensure that proper safety procedures for effective  distributions and activities are in place, well communicated, and consistently applied. The performance of each region and team needs to be regularly assessed and action taken to build capacity and skills where needed. Successful Field Operations Managers will build networks with local charities, community groups and Local Authorities to help grow and develop the operations of the local Care4Calais volunteer teams. As an operation, continuous improvement through research, learning and development of practices and policies will be critical. The successful candidate for this role will be proactive and hardworking with the ability to problem-solve and prioritise effectively. The role would suit someone who is a self-starter, a strong team player and excels working in a varied role. Candidates will need strong organisational skills and must have the ability to make numerous important and compassionate decisions each day.

We work flexibly, but core working hours are between 10am-4pm, and the successful candidate will be expected to work some evening and weekends, as required.

We are a small but mighty charity where no two days are the same. You may be involved in promoting a focus group to our members one day and meeting with a journalist the next. We currently have over 100 registered volunteers and over 2000 members of our online community, and you will work closely with our Volunteer & Community Coordinator to ensure that our members are at the heart of what we do.

The ability to speak Welsh, or a willingness to learn, is desirable.

Lead a national charity at a pivotal moment of change and make a life‑changing impact for individuals and families affected by rare craniofacial conditions. 

Headlines Craniofacial Support is a UK-based charity providing information, advice and support to individuals and families affected by craniosynostosis and other rare craniofacial conditions.  The charity works closely with professional partners, including the 5 NHS Designated Specialist Craniofacial Units across the UK.

Craniosynostosis is a condition where two or more of the plates in the skull fuse prematurely, requiring medical support from a young age. Around 350 children are born with craniosynostosis each year in the UK.

Established by group of parents in 1993, Headlines now has over 2,500 members.  Within our charity offer we send out regular newsletters and an annual magazine, Headline News.  We also support families to connect through events such as an annual Family Weekend, conferences and Days Out, and provide information through our helpline and access to psychological support.  We have private social media groups and specific groups within our membership who meet regularly including Cranio Dads, Young Persons Network and a Teens Group.

After 8 successful years, our current Director will be retiring in 2026 and we are now seeking an enthusiastic, inspirational and proactive individual to take up the reins.This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-established, respected national charity at an important moment of transition.

Strategic priorities for us, moving forward, include increasing our fundraising activities to ensure sustainability of the charity alongside the smooth running of our core activities in providing support, facilitating research and raising awareness.

Key responsibilities

The Executive Director will hold day-to-day responsibilities, working closely with the Chair and Trustee Board to provide effective leadership and operational management of the charity. Specifically, they will:

• Act as an ambassador for the charity, liaising with members, health professionals and with wider community and provide day-to-day management of Headlines staff and activities, setting objectives in line with the operational plan.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection and other legal, statutory and regulatory requirements and responsibilities.
• Work on behalf of and with the Trustees to deliver the charity’s mission, goals, operational plans and long-term strategy,  and act as a positive leader and role model, managing and motivating Headlines staff,
• Ensure effective financial management of Headlines working closely with trustees and the treasurer to ensure financial security and appropriate allocation of funds.
• Manage and enhance the event programme to meet charity objectives, including identifying and meeting members’ priorities and raising awareness of craniofacial conditions.
• Develop opportunities for collaborative working and partnerships with other organisations for the benefit of people with craniosynostosis and rare craniofacial conditions.  This also includes work overseas, predominantly in Europe with our medical and charity partners.
• Oversee communications and marketing activities to raise the profile of Headlines, its work and the needs of its members.
• Identify opportunities for growth, developing projects and keeping policies relevant, to enhance and expand the work of Headlines.
• Be responsible for generating funds through innovative and cost-effective fundraising activities and grant applications to maintain the long-term success of the charity.

Person specification 

Essential criteria

• An understanding of the importance of the charity’s values and priorities.
• Evidence of inclusive, innovative and proactive leadership, with demonstrable experience of fundraising and income generation.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with experience organising events and activities.
• Experience of successfully managing budgets and developing new and sustainable funding streams.
• Excellent organisational, presentation and communication skills and the ability to write reports for public consumption and for statutory obligations.
• A high level of digital literacy skills with an understanding of online technology and the application of social media.
• Proven track record in managing, leading and motivating staff and volunteers.
• Willingness to operate a hybrid model of working with most work taking place from home, working remotely with stakeholders and across the UK/ internationally for specific events.
• Experience of working within the charity sector, ideally at a management level and/or within  financial management of the charitable sector, with sound knowledge of the relevant legal requirements and regulations applicable to a charitable organisation.

Desirable criteria

• Experience of working effectively with a Chair and Board of Trustees.
• Experience of working for a health-related organisation.
• An awareness of the principles of inclusivity, accessibility or experience of working with individuals with visible differences.
• Degree or equivalent.
• Experience of commissioning research and liaising with research bodies.

Other information

Headlines hosts events and fundraising activities throughout the whole of the UK. All Headlines staff are expected to work flexibly to support those activities as required, e.g. attendance at Annual Family Weekend, conferences, member events, supporter receptions and other related scientific meetings and conferences. This may occasionally require travel and overnight stays. In addition, all staff are expected to be self-servicing in terms of administration and basic digital skills. About the Role 

The Young Women’s Multiple Disadvantage Advocate (YWMDA) is part of our Intersectional Anti-Oppressive Team and the CouRAGEus project, an innovative pan-London programme supporting Black and minoritised young women and girls experiencing gender-based violence, poor mental health, and multiple disadvantage.

In this role, you will provide holistic, trauma-informed advocacy and support, managing a caseload of young women with complex needs. This includes risk assessment, safety planning, and multi-agency working to help clients access services, build resilience, and improve wellbeing. You will empower young women and girls to increase their safety, strengthen resilience, and access the support they need to thrive.

About the Role

The Mental Health Recovery Worker supports individuals within the community, to improve mental health and wellbeing, through focussed 1:1s and structured interventions. At times this may mean deescalating crisis.

The role will be part of a larger Recovery Lounge team made up of Mental Health Recovery Workers, Peer Support Workers and volunteers.

About the Recovery Lounge Service

Our Recovery Lounges offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis. The role will involve assessing needs and offering one to one support to service users to enable them to begin the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing and to providing clarity on services and pathways available in the area.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience of working with individuals experiencing mental health and wellbeing issues, experience of working in a small service within a wider organisation, including delivering a service against performance targets and have the ability to Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with a wide range of people. They will have good communication, motivational and negotiation skills and understand the wellbeing needs of and working with people with mental health needs, including those from culturally diverse communities.

Community Coach

As a member of the Community Team, you will provide vital support to people who have completed our course in prison and are now in the community working to find the stability they need to realise their potential, achieve their goals and rebuild their lives after prison.

This is an exciting time to join our Community Team as we look to broaden and deepen the support we offer participants as they leave prison. You will help shape our offer to participants; drawing on your experiences and creativity and working with our other Community Coaches to trial new approaches.

Partnership working plays an important part of the role, and you’ll get to connect with employers, partners and statutory organisations to support participants as they build a life after prison.

This role would be ideal for someone with a good understanding of the challenges faced by those caught up in the criminal justice system, gained through personal experience, paid work or volunteering.
