The Greenwich / Avery Hill Advice Service Manager plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support and guidance to students on the Greenwich / Avery Hill Campus and managing the service.
This position is responsible for promoting and continually improving the Greenwich / Avery Hill Advice Service, including developing proactive interventions to enhance student success and evaluating the impact of these services.
Looking at trend data, the role will support the team in developing insights into the needs of students studying at Greenwich.
Guided by this information, the post holder will develop new initiatives and facilitate service outreach to reduce the likelihood of issues arising in the first place.
The manager will collaborate with other departments to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
This role sits within the Advocacy and Policy Team who focus on making 1-1 timely interventions to support students to succeed as well as identifying broader trends in student behaviour to inform our strategic approach to services and support.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
This post holder will be part of the wider Advocacy and Policy Team and will be expected to contribute to departments wider objectives and planning.
The post holder will:
Advice Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage the Greenwich / Avery Hill Advisers.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment for all staff.
- Provide supervision and support when required for Advisers dealing with challenging cases.
- Provide guidance and professional development opportunities for staff managed.
- Manage Greenwich / Avery Hill Advice Service within agreed budgets.
Operational:
- In conjunction with colleagues contribute to any professional awards for the service, i.e. quality mark, etc.
- Track and monitor issues affecting students.
- Reasonable cover for the Advice Service Manager (Medway) during periods of absence (can be done remotely).
- Occasional report writing or deputising for Head of Advocacy and Policy relating to Advice.
- To provide advice to students accessing the service.
- Attend with students to relevant meetings/hearings in relation to Advice cases.
- To create and maintain case records ensuring confidentiality as per the services procedures.
- To attend and contribute to appropriate meetings internally or externally.
Service Promotion:
- Develop and execute strategies for promoting the Service to both new and current students.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create marketing materials and campaigns when required.
- Engage in outreach efforts to raise awareness of the Service.
Impact Evaluation:
- Establish and maintain data-driven systems for evaluating the impact/quality of the Advice Service in conjunction with colleagues.
- Collect and analyse data to assess the effectiveness of interventions and make evidence-based improvements.
- Prepare regular reports on the outcomes and impact of the advice services.
Collaboration:
- To develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Work closely with other university departments, such as Student Centre, Finance Team, Wellbeing Team, Faculties, etc to better support students.
- To attend meetings and forums as appropriate.

About the role
The Crisis Financing Training & Capacity Development Advisor will be responsible for developing and expanding an innovative package of trainings and learning for the Start Network.
You will play a crucial role in the ongoing capacity development of Start Network organisation, by disseminating and institutionalising new developments in learning, knowledge and terminology
related to Start Network crisis financing programming throughout the staff team.
You will continue to develop new and strengthen existing training packages that are of high quality and will ensure that Start Network's New Financing programming is mainstreamed throughout the sector in a sustainable manner.
You will be responsible for assisting in delivering trainings to member agency colleagues, Start Network Hubs as well as training the Start Network team. You will coordinate a group of ‘trainers' who can offer high quality capacity development opportunities. You will also ensure that monitoring, evaluation and accountability is built into capacity development to measure outputs and outcomes more systematically.
In this role, you will:
- Leverage technical expertise from Start team members, technical partners and the anticipation and risk financing building blocks framework to design modularised training and learning materials to meet the capacity development needs of the Start Network, including e-learning.
- Identify and develop a training of trainers (TOT) programme and build up a group of trainers within the Start team and across the Start Network membership.
- Strengthen the training and facilitation skills of Start Network team
- Develop a learning pathway with the technical leads to ensure different stakeholders can access the training necessary for their role
- Investigate and utilise cutting edge and interactive learning and training approaches, building partnerships and relationships with providers of such services.
- Review and develop adaptable learning materials with multi language application requirements and cultural contexts as needed.
- Work with academic partners to see how higher levels of training and learning could achieve levels of accreditation for member participants.
- Lead on coordinating and monitoring capacity development with the above-mentioned cadre of trainers from the Start team and across the Start Network membership, supporting the cadre to deliver high quality trainings as well as delivering in-person trainings directly and ensuring that materials and approaches are adapted to context.
- Build in monitoring, evaluation and accountability systems. Feed learning back into the development of training, and into the wider Start Financing programme delivery.
- Work with Start Programmes team (i.e. CARF and Start Funds) to understand their work and the subject areas to develop the training package.
About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Experienced as a confident and engaging trainer, facilitator and communicator with excellent networking and relationship-building skills and with proven ability to cater to diverse stakeholders i.e. grassroot, regional and international organisations.
- Sound knowledge of humanitarian financing.
- Proven experience in developing training and learning packages on technical subjects.
- Knowledge and experience of undertaking learning needs analysis and designing high quality blended

Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Charity Operations Manager to run the smooth, effective operation of the organisation so we can best support people in the UK living with thyroid disease. This is a management role leading on all operational activities, supporting and working in close collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Salary will be reviewed after an initial 6 month probationary period.
This role involves minimal supervision and is responsible for the day to day running and management of the charity.

Job Description: Fellowship Programme Officer
Line Manager: Team Leader (New Fellows)
Objective: The Programme Officer provides individualised support to Fellows, facilitates placements and secures funding. The Programme Officer also contributes to project management activities.
Duration: For an initial period of 12 months, subject to review.

Organisational Background
The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933.
Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for just over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk.
Cara Objectives ‘To assist academics who have been, or are, or are at risk of being, subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence on account of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, to relieve needs among them and their dependants and ensure that their specialist knowledge and abilities can continue to be used for the benefit of the public.’

Fellowship Programme Officer Role & Responsibilities
Fellowships
- Lead on New Fellows Team cases and provide comprehensive support to Cara Fellows using trauma-informed practice.
- Secure fee waivers, bursaries & in-kind support from universities, research institutes and other funding bodies.
- Provide logistical support to Fellows prior to and after their arrival in the UK.
- Coordinate with regional exam centres to facilitate IELTS or equivalent fee waivers for Fellows.
- Collect and interpret regional intelligence to inform Fellowship Programme advice and guidance.
- Write and send official documents to Fellows.
- Develop relationships with universities and other partner organisations.
- Conduct due diligence on Fellows’ documents and risk.

The role
Voice4Change England is recruiting for an Infrastructure and Development Officer who will effectively manage outreach and consultation with BME organisations and communities across London. We are looking for a proactive, motivated and outgoing person to join our Infrastructure and Development Team.
You will be passionate about social justice and addressing inequalities, can assess community needs and deliver infrastructure support addressing under-funding, and help to build sustainability and resilience in London BME groups as well as help groups develop opportunities for greater impact.
The role will be remote working with monthly meetings and project related travel across London
Main responsibilities
• Organise and deliver outreach to reach and engage BME organisations and be informed by them on needs and issues.
• Organise roadshows and other events to engage and consult with BME organisations on particular issues and themes that emerge from outreach and consultation.
• Contribute to the development of learning, advice, support and resources for BME organisations.
• Liaise with external agencies and service providers to help broker increased inclusion of BME organisations.
• Collaborate, inform and involve, as relevant, BME organisations to aid the development of this work.
• Produce reports for V4CE and funders on the impact and value of the outreach and development work
• Contribute to dissemination of the contribution of the London BME sector to increase external value and respect of its work and impact

About the Role

We receive funding from Liverpool City Council; which helps support our generalist advice service which gives advice on a wide range of subjects such as; benefits, work, debt & money, consumer, family, housing, law & courts, immigration and health. We also receive funding from other major contributors which helps run our specialist advice projects.
