About this exciting opportunity

As Grants and Bids Manager, you will manage statutory funding applications of five, six and seven figure multi-year income compliant with commissioner/funder requirements and oversee the project management of applications – managing timelines, activities, delegating tasks and ensuring stakeholders meet them, support decision-making through providing relevant and informed advice and producing high quality funding proposals and applications.

We will also rely on you to plan and chair proposal development meetings with key internal stakeholders, to identify and successfully bring in new funding opportunities that align with our strategic objectives, and to provide the highest level of donor care and manage involvement of new funders to ensure that the giving potential of each individual funding body is maximised. Updating the Fundraising Management Team with strategic developments in funding opportunities and supporting the Statutory Fundraising Team with other tasks, including their funding applications and proposals, are also vital elements of the role.

About the role

As Senior PR Manager, you will play a crucial role in raising the profile of Save the Children UK amongst key target audiences, by developing and delivering projects that command media attention and coverage. As a member of the PR, Artist & Broadcast team, you will be able to apply your experience working with the media to shape major fundraising and influencing campaigns and build our brand. Some stakeholders you will work with include high profile ambassadors, influencers, and partners. To be successful in this role you will lean on your excellent verbal and written communications skills and have a strong network of contacts to help share the work of Save the Children UK.

In this role, you will:

• Work closely with team members in other departments within Save the Children to provide excellent PR support for delivering Save the Children's objectives
• Develop and execute mass-market PR plans that amplify key strategic campaigns and initiatives across the calendar year, including brand, fundraising and advocacy priorities
• Identify and maximise opportunities to generate reactive media coverage, responding effectively to external events, news and the cultural conversation 
• Write, co-ordinate and issue media releases, statements, briefing materials and Q&As, including for high-profile spokespeople and corporate partners, if required 
• Develop and nurture close working relationships with journalists (especially those on features, women's, lifestyle, showbiz outlets) across print, digital and broadcast media - including a diverse range of outlets beyond mainstream media
• Represent Save the Children as spokesperson externally, networking and building relationships that support brand building activity in the media.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Significant operational experience in mass-market PR, as a print or broadcast journalist, or equivalent professional media communications experience
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external contacts across diverse cultures, disciplines and time zones
• Solid experience developing and implementing PR campaigns for corporate clients, including cause-related events, co-branded marketing activity, global campaigns
• Excellent working knowledge of the media landscape – including national broadcast and press, women's, showbiz, tabloid and digital media – with a network of journalistic contacts.
• Excellent writing skills, including the ability to write and edit engaging copy for a range of audiences, across traditional and new mediums

About the role

You’ll empower your clients to take actions for themselves or will advocate on their behalf for better service, support and outcomes, so they can live their life with Parkinson's in the way they choose.

You’ll deliver tailored information and support through a range of channels including telephone, video and email and, where appropriate, home visits and in community settings.

You’ll be responsible for building excellent relationships with healthcare professionals and other relevant agencies, as well as our network of volunteers and groups.

A key and growing audience for Fauna & Flora in the UK and globally is high net worth individuals and corporates, and specifically those who are willing to give high value unrestricted support to our global conservation work. As a result, we are launching a transformational fundraising plan to 2030, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Philanthropy Adviser to help us meet our ambitious targets, securing high value donations from our existing networks and helping us to reach out to new contacts and networks to build our pipeline for support.

You will be focussed on developing a portfolio of high value supporters in the UK, but you will also develop strong working relationships across high value fundraising activities in the USA and Australia, as well as more widely across the fundraising communications teams, and also with senior leadership including the CEO and with our volunteers including trustees.

To this end we are seeking a self-motivated individual to join our Philanthropy team in this role. The role requires an individual with passion and drive to inspire and motivate donors to give significant funding to our cause, but also with the ability to listen and understand prospect motivations, in order to build lasting relationships. You will have expert technical and professional skills in major donor fundraising and a proven ability to develop fundraising strategy for high level donors.

About the opportunity

Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future.  The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year), of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations, £100k is from individuals, and the remaining from trusts and foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships.
 

We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work within our passionate Philanthropy Team to help grow our fundraised income and develop and maintain an effective, high-quality funding pipeline. Focussing predominantly on eliciting funding from trusts and foundations, and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Fundraising Manager will ensure the effective management of existing funder relations and take responsibility for ensuring Action Tutoring meets its reporting obligations. The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the line-management and development of three Fundraising Coordinators, through which you and your team will prepare and submit grant applications and funding reports, alongside overseeing the development and growth of our individual giving activities and initiatives, including through expansion of our fundraising events and campaigns.

Duties and responsibilities

· Monitor when grants are due for renewal and proactively seek out renewal conversations, ensuring Action Tutoring has a healthy funding pipeline. 

· Work with the Fundraising Coordinator for Campaigns, Events and Individual Giving to build Action Tutoring’s income generated from events, ensuring an attractive range of event options across the country. Manage the Fundraising Coordinator to ensure places are secured, participants are supported and engagement is expanded.
 

· Work with  Fundraising Coordinator for Campaigns, Events and Individual Giving to build Action Tutoring’s income generated from individual giving, developing campaigns for driving more regular giving and building our strategies to cultivate, engage and thank individuals. 
 

· Act as a system manager for fundraising platforms, databases and tools including Just Giving and the Giving Block, with support from Fundraising Coordinators.
 

· Oversee the development of the fundraising area of the website and fundraising pack to attract new funders and fundraisers to the charity, with support from the Fundraising Coordinators.
 

· Manage the Fundraising Coordinators, ensuring they are growing and developing, and that work load is shared fairly. 
 

· Represent Action Tutoring at relevant meetings and events.
 

· Alongside your team, prepare applications for corporate funding opportunities identified by the Corporate Partnerships Team.
 

· Ensure accurate record-keeping of corporate partnerships and relationships on Salesforce and any other relevant systems.

Person specification

This role requires an ambitious, passionate and determined individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Alongside your team you will be responsible for writing and submitting grant applications and reports, so an excellent understanding of the English language and a keen eye for detail are crucial for success within this position. Working to deadlines and line-managing three Fundraising Coordinators, exceptional time-management, prioritisation and organisation skills are essential. With a focus on developing our individual giving strategies, we’re looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills. 
 

Qualifications criteria:

· A*-C in maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent experience).
 

· Right to work in the UK.
 

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others: 
 

· At least two years experience in fundraising (preferably within trusts and foundations fundraising).
 

· Proven track record in securing and stewarding 5+ figure partnerships.

Rahab Project UK is a small charity which is part of a wider global organisation that works towards seeing the lives of at risk and vulnerable women affected by prostitution and trafficking transformed. We support those who are sexually exploited with unconditional acceptance, compassion and dignity to rebuild their lives and achieve their own identity and freedom. We provide learning and development opportunities for women to engage in and offer a supportive and on-judgemental environment as they explore ways and takes steps forward in self-determining their futures.

We are a dedicated team of professionals, facilitating casework support, counselling, wellbeing and learning. As a Rahab team member you will play an essential role in developing and steering our continued growth, but more importantly you will be play a part in the transformative journeys of our beneficiaries and their recovery from exploitation and abuse.

Overall Purpose: The Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of Rahab's projects. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

Service delivery

• Ensure that all aspects of Rahab’s project activities are planned, organized and undertaken to fulfil their objectives within their required timelines.

• Develop, organize, and maintain project documentation, plans, reports, and other project-related documents to monitor and track overall progress, outputs and achievement of milestones.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate project risks, delays and issues to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.

• Monitor project progress with team members and task as required. 

• Contribute to the development of funding applications in coordination with Rahab’s Fundraiser. 

• Support Rahab team with volunteer recruitment and training. 

• Undertake project tasks as required including supporting the team with outreach when necessary. 

• Provide administrative support such as minuting weekly team update meetings and setting up relevant meetings with external organisations. 

Data collection, record keeping, monitoring & reporting. 

• Maintain accurate data and records that capture and analyse information to (i) inform planning and delivery of casework support; (ii) monitor and evaluate wider project outcomes, (iii) to contribute data for future long-term evaluation of casework approach efficacy. 

• Produce accurate quarterly management reports. 

• Produce timely donor reports for funders within respective deadlines. 

• Facilitate a review of project progress for Rahab team at monthly update team meetings, to support project monitoring and tasking. 
   

Service development

Priority stakeholder relationships 

• Participate in and contribute to collaborative working arrangements, alongside Rahab Manager, in key stakeholder work - SI MARAC (Sex Industry Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference) - with Local Authority, Metropolitan Police and Voluntary and Community sector.

• Participation at monthly SI MARAC meetings, ensuring that the work of the group is effectively joined up with wider groups and meetings focussed on addressing risk and harm.

• Support Rahab’s Senior Caseworker where necessary to ensure SI MARAC outcomes are effectively linked up with Rahab's outreach activities, and work-with Rahab’s Project Manager to ensure team members are kept informed about SI MARAC developments. 

• Work with the team to identify and engage in new professional relationships with key organisations across different sectors, and maintain our existing networks of contacts, to (i) develop and expand Rahab’s activities and reach, and (ii) foster collaboration. 

• Represent Rahab in multi-agency working groups, meetings, and forums, sharing knowledge and learning, publicising services available and how to access support. 

Beneficiary co-production 

• Work with Manager to start developing a framework and mechanism for gathering feedback from beneficiaries to evaluate the support they are receiving. 

• Work with the team to identify opportunities for our beneficiaries’ active participation in the project in ways that are safe and empowering. 

Shared learning 

• Participate in team development and learning in relation to best practice interventions and our casework delivery for beneficiaries. 
   

Continued professional development 

• Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, guidance, and best practice. 

• Within budgetary constraints, attend training and other events to help maintain proficiency and build a network of support amongst peers. 
   

Variation clause 

Rahab reserves the right, following full and reasonable consultation with the post holder, to vary, add or alter the terms and conditions of employment. 
 

Flexibility clause 

To deliver services effectively a degree of flexibility is required, and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically outlined above and/or outside of specified working hours. Our Youth and Community team based at our North Bristol Hub in Lawrence Weston are looking for a special, talented, and adaptable Youth Worker, to help us strengthen and sustain our range of community and targeted youth programmes across Lawrence Weston, Shirehampton, Sea Mills, Henbury and Avonmouth.  You will work alongside our Lead Youth Worker to:

· design, plan, and deliver weekly open access session for young people in Lawrence Weston

· deliver high quality 1:1 service through our Bridging programme across North Bristol

· deliver innovated activities for young people in the community in line with the city-wide Youth Vision.

We are looking for individuals who have:

· Experience of working alongside other statutory and voluntary organisations.

· Able to work a minimum of two evenings per week.

· Previous experience in implementing youth programmes.

· Knowledge of safeguarding practices with young people.

While a relevant qualification in Youth & Community Work would be desirable, we are open to applicants with significant experience instead.
