Scope of the Job
This is an exciting opportunity to chair our newly formed Safeguarding Panel and provide strategic advice and guidance on embedding an excellent safeguarding culture in SeeAbility.

The independent safeguarding chair role will be to:
- Help prepare our Safeguarding Panel meeting agendas.
- Chair these meetings.
- Provide effective scrutiny of SeeAbility’s safeguarding performance.
- Champion Making Safeguarding Personal.
- Constructively challenge those responsible for maximising performance.
- Help shape SeeAbility’s safeguarding implementation plan.
- Monitor progress of the plan.
Your experience & personal characteristics
You will have experience of leading and managing others in senior positions and of chairing complex meetings productively.
You will have up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding adults legislation and best practice and extensive experience or safeguarding in the public and/or voluntary sector.
You will be a strong advocate for creating a safer culture and encouraging change.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Head of Communications to join the team. As Head of Communications, you will lead the charity’s internal and external communications. From strategy development through to execution, you will be interacting with a wide range of audiences and stakeholders from policymakers to press and media. This is a part time (1.5 days a week), permanent role, home based within the UK with limited travel for meetings in the UK.
Who are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have experience of managing complex communications projects involving multiple stakeholders and achieving measurable results. You will be able to both develop and execute a marketing and communications strategy which has buy-in from stakeholders and have experience of developing project timelines and delivering against key milestone.
You will be able to demonstrate strategic understanding of the charity’s needs, inspire team members, and possess the gravitas to influence stakeholders to support your vision. You will be skilled at developing high quality and engaging communications across a variety of media, including web and social channels. Knowledge of SEO and web metrics would be a bonus however this is not essential for the role. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable managing a communications budget and working with external agencies to support in the delivering of successful outcomes, whilst also being excited by the prospect of being hands-on and making a direct impact.

We are seeking a highly experienced Trusts and Foundations fundraising consultant to spearhead the Trusts programme at Dreams Come True. As an excellent communicator, influencer, and relationship builder, you will have a proven track record of successful fundraising in this area: ideally securing between 6 and 7-figure gifts.
The successful individual must clearly understand what is meant by a strong brand / charity proposition and have clear evidence of creating and delivering compelling cases for support, with strong examples of this resulting in successful grants to the value of £50-£100k.
Building upon the current small programme, you will lead on initiating conversations with new funders; quickly building rapport and submitting compelling funding proposals and writing timely reports as necessary. This is the sole Trusts based role within the Fundraising team but works closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to develop funding projects and applications.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and passionate individual to make a real difference to children with high needs living in the highest areas of deprivation in the country.
This role reports into the Head of Fundraising and sits within our small Fundraising Department.
