We are seeking a full time Manager to lead a service that helps people, emotionally and practically, to face the immediate, acute, disorientating and painful experience of the first days, weeks and months in the aftermath of a road traffic collision.
Aftermath Support is a well-established charity delivering support for anyone involved or affected by a road traffic collision. We offer free, confidential advice, practical support, and information to promote recovery and rehabilitation and help people deal with issues such as bereavement, life-changing injuries, the legal process and financial matters.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will be accountable for the leadership and day-to-day delivery of services, including your own case load of clients, which may include:
- One to one psycho-social support via face to face meetings, telephone, email or text
- Practical support, such as dealing with the police and accessing legal advice/financial support
- Advocacy and liaising with professionals or statutory agencies on the client’s behalf
- Proactive signposting and onwards referral
- Arranging peer support and providing group support sessions after a fatality e.g. to schools
You will also be responsible for supervising and supporting a small team of two part-time staff and recruiting and training volunteer support workers.
Making grant applications and fundraising is also a key aspect of the role, as is raising awareness and delivering presentation sessions around the impact of road traffic collisions
This is an exciting opportunity with a successful charity, to take overall responsibility for service delivery, develop its profile and build on its excellent reputation.
