Wellbeing Activities Programme Manager (Birmingham)

37 hours per week

£26,000 (plus pension and healthcare scheme benefits)


The opportunity

We are recruiting for a Programme Manager to oversee the delivery of a new programme in Birmingham. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead our new Wellbeing Activities Team.

The team will develop a broad range of social and physical activities for older people and also support grassroots groups to develop their own activities under the Neighbourhood Networks Scheme.

You will have the freedom to be creative in leading your team, of both staff and volunteers, to develop activities you feel are needed in the local area, and as determined by the skills and interests of its residents. The activities can grow and develop in any way, as long as they meet their targets for reach and outcomes under the Birmingham Council Prevention First agenda.


The ideal candidate

As the Programme Manager, you will have a passion for owning a programme and delivering successful outcomes. With strong leadership skills you will enjoy the opportunity to mold and bed in a new service team.

We are looking for an individual who understands the challenges older people face and strives to provide them with high quality opportunities to thrive in their community. You will have experience of implementing new programmes together excellent organisational an and people management skills, together with an understanding of evidencing outcomes

You will relish a challenge and enjoy getting things done, whilst maintaining team spirit and a sense of humour.


The organisation

We are a locally focused charity with over 160 staff and volunteers across Birmingham and Sandwell. We provide support and services to people aged 50 and over. We are looking to grow and expand to reach more of the older people in Birmingham and Sandwell.
