Job Description

Are you committed to improving lives for older people?

Lewisham Safe and Independent Living (SAIL) is Age UK Lewisham and Southwark’s service supporting older people to remain safe in the community with the support they need.

We are looking for somebody who is comfortable talking to a wide range of professionals to build and maintain partnerships as well as supporting our older people by telephone, letter and in person. There are two strands to this: the first is being the point of contact for the SAIL service, which involves taking referrals by telephone, email and fax, processing them in line with our systems and making onward referrals. The second is supporting older people to complete Attendance Allowance applications, ensuring they have funds to access the assistance they need in later life.

This is a busy and rewarding role giving you the opportunity to make a real difference.  There will be the opportunity to attend events, forums and meetings to broaden your understanding of Health and Social Care and build experience working in the voluntary sector.  You will also be working closely with the Community Connections team and Independent Living Services in Southwark.

AUKLS is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.

If you are a good listener, a positive thinker, strong at multi tasking and passionate about supporting older people we want to hear from you.
