Job description

Do you want to have a direct impact on local community services? Are you passionate about supporting isolated or vulnerable older people?

Age UK Lewisham and Southwark offer high profile Safe and Independent Living (SAIL) services supporting people 50+ in the borough of Southwark. A large part of what makes the services a success is due to the work of our SAIL Navigators, who support older people one-to-one, using a person centred approach to address issues with isolation and help people to access the services they need.

The SAIL Navigation and Projects Manager is responsible for line management and support of the Navigators, as well as maintaining and developing the service through monitoring, evaluation, promotion and building partnerships with other community and statutory services. This post is also responsible for special projects run alongside SAIL to keep older people living safely and independently, such as our Weathering Well campaigns.

This is a busy, fast paced and rewarding role; giving you the opportunity to make a real difference.  The role is primarily office based within a busy day centre, although travel across the borough is expected as part of liaising with community and statutory partners.  You will be working closely with a team of friendly and knowledgeable colleagues in Independent Living Services.

If you are a good listener, a positive thinker, strong at multi tasking and passionate about supporting older people we want to hear from you.
