We have an exciting opportunity for an empathetic, caring individual to provide a Patients’ Representative Service to older patients, based at Queen’s Medical Centre.
In this position, you will represent, advocate and support patients, and their carers where appropriate, providing a holistic approach to facilitate self-expression, and promote independence and choice, enabling people to make informed decisions around a wide variety of issues during their hospital stay and discharge.
To succeed, you should have experience of working with older people, preferably in a hospital setting, working with a wide range of professionals. Experience in advocacy would be advantageous, along with a good understanding of the needs and concerns of older people. You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with excellent organisational skills, and the ability to accurately maintain appropriate computerised and paper systems. The ability to be able to work independently is a must.
