Job Title: Information Manager

Job Purpose

We have an excellent opportunity for someone to join our new and dynamic team established to support our local Age UK Brand Partners in transforming their services, operations and organisations to be fit for the future.

This role is a crucial resource helping to ensure that Age UK's network of Brand Partners have access to information and support that is accurate, accessible and actionable.

This role involves the gathering and analysis of insight regarding our Age UK network from a variety of sources that can then inform our strategic thinking, shape our programme delivery and ensure our network's needs are represented and understood throughout the charity.

Main Responsibilities

* Manage a range of datasets (include GIS) across a range of platforms, eg Excel, Power BI, SurveyGizmo, MS Dynamics, and supporting data contributors to achieve and maintain quality.

* Work with colleagues across Age UK to design and analyse research with and about local Age UKs, including services and clients, and provide guidance so that we build skills and capacity.

* Support National Managers to produce regular, robust reports about the network, including for the Governance team, Charity Management Board, Age UK's Board of Trustees and the Age England Association Executive Committee.

* Work with partner-facing colleagues across Age UK to develop processes for evaluating the benefits of our network offer, and to evaluate and report on the impact of the network.

* Support the Age UK-wide framework within which partner information is scoped, collected and shared, and advise others on good practice, so we collect high-quality, useful data.

Experience

Essential
* Significant experience designing and/or managing information systems and processes to inform strategic objectives, shape products and programmes and enhance user experience.

* Solid experience with data-handling tools, including client databases and analytics.

* Experience of providing reports and presenting information in an engaging and accessible way, in a variety of formats and for a range of audiences (including senior managers).

* Experience of delivering programmes in a complex environment, working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders and of progressing cross-departmental work.

Skills & Knowledge

Essential
* Excellent data handling and numeracy skills, including the ability to run statistical analysis, to use Excel at an intermediate level, to identify trends and to visualise results.

* An understanding of the key factors affecting organisational performance, including risk.

* Solid organisational and planning skills and the ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure, to prioritise one's workload and to proactively solve problems.

* Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills at all levels, and the ability to support internal clients to scope projects that are feasible and effective.

* The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, and to manage the expectations of your manager and key senior stakeholders.

* The ability to focus and pay close attention to detail.

Desirable
* A strong commitment to being user-led and the ability to support others with this approach.

* A good understanding of the charity sector and/or of one of our key policy areas: information and advice, social care, benefits and ending loneliness.

* Advanced-level statistical skills and the ability to provide quantitative analysis.

Additional Information

Qualifications:

* Educated to degree level in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

* A qualification in information management, research design or customer insight is desirable, but not essential.

Additional Circumstances:

* Ability to occasionally travel outside London for work, including some overnight stays.

* Ability to occasionally work unsociable hours if needed, eg to support project deadlines.
