Can you help us to make Wales a better place for Veterans to grow older? Project 360° is an innovative project led by Age Cymru, working with Age Alliance Wales, and the veteran's charity Woody's Lodge, to support older military veterans across Wales.
We are seeking a motivated and positive project officer to work with relevant charities, organisations and individuals, and engage with former armed service personnel, to ensure that older military veterans have access to the all-round service and support that they need.
Covering North Wales, with extensive travel throughout the region, the successful candidate will work with veterans, veteran organisations and Age Alliance Wales to improve the lives of older veterans in Wales through partner organisations.
This will include working with local covenants and organisations delivering services in Wales to identify and support veterans, developing positive working relationships with project partners and beneficiaries through regular and meaningful communications.
What can you bring to the role?
* Excellent interpersonal skills and great relationship building skills.
* Knowledge of issues affecting older people and barriers to accessing services, coupled with issues experienced by military veterans and an understanding of the armed forces community.
* Ability to deliver training & presentations on how to identify ex forces personnel and the unique support they need.
* Experience of management and governance issues concerning voluntary and community organisations.
* Confident working in an autonomous role with support from a central Cardiff office, and a full driving licence along with the ability to travel.
