Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Marketing and Communications manager to join our growing team in London. This new role in the organisation provides the opportunity to lead and shape the brand, reputations and presence of Al Basar International Foundation (BIF).

Reporting to the Executive Manager, in this multi-faceted and challenging role, you will work to generate, develop and place engaging media stories which assist BIF to meet its domestic and international campaigning, fundraising and brand awareness objectives. You will be tasked to develop and implement BIF’s marketing and communications strategy, working closely with the fundraising team and BIF partners. The Marketing and Communications Officer will need to operate effectively and efficiently in a continually developing and changing workplace context and be capable of motivating others to embrace change.

Al Basar International Foundation (BIF) is a registered UK NGO which was established in 1990 and has a strong track record of establishing and strengthening eye health services in countries around the world. Much of our work has focused on the eradication and prevention of eye related diseases. BIF is very well qualified to address the problem of unnecessary vision loss among children and adults in Africa and Asia, having already established 30 eye health centres globally.

Having its own comprehensive ‘blindness control program’, BIF annually carries out 40 mobile cataract out-reach programs (BIF Caravan: Ophthalmic Medical Team for free eye cure) in Africa & Asia with the facilities of complete schedules of post-operative check-up and follow-ups.
