The RSCM is on a mission to enable the flourishing of church music, and in particular to get children singing.

Working across the whole charity, you will work to sell existing products, courses and events, as well as membership subscriptions. With a passion for the power of singing and music, you will persuade musicians, teachers and members of church communities of the value of RSCM’s offerings. The post holder will be expected to work to actively drive sales of RSCM products such as ‘Hymnpact!’ (a singing resource aimed at encouraging singing in primary schools), sales of events such as singing courses, and membership subscriptions; and in some instances voluntary giving. Some of the work will be in support of RSCM Enterprises, RSCM’s wholly owned trading subsidiary.

The sales plan will be delivered with some assistance of external contractors (e.g. social media), and with input from individuals across the organisation.

The post holder is responsible for selling to individuals, corporate customers (such as school federations) and organisations (e.g. choral societies) including through appropriate organisational networks. The holder will play an active part in suggesting, agreeing and delivering agreed KPIs and sales targets, monitoring and adjusting activities as necessary to improve results. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the long-term financial viability of the charity and whilst we have a comprehensive product offer, we welcome innovation. Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.

The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.

Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation.  This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.

The role will also provide crucial executive support to the CEO and SLT of three Directors, to ensure the smooth operation of their responsibilities and co-ordinating efforts of various parties to ensure completion of key tasks and actions.

About you:

You will have at least 3 years’ experience of delivering HR support directly and facilitating line managers to deliver HR support.  You will have a demonstrable understanding of employment law and the practical application of this, with experience of implementing HR administration and operational best practice for example, in the areas of recruitment, capability and performance management. You will help lead in creating an atmosphere of trust and an enabling environment where staff can contribute their best and develop their potential, which is critical for Day One as a young organisation.

Experience

First Give was founded in 2014 to inspire, equip and motivate young people to make a difference to the causes they care about. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to build their corporate partnerships career. The Director of Operations will work as part of the management team to develop and implement the organisation’s strategy and operational plans and to build the longer term sustainability of the organisation. They will be required to deputise for the Chief Officer in their absence and assist in the overall management of the organisation. As part of the management team the role demands a high level of flexibility, initiative and commitment. The role also involves working with the Chief Officer to design and improve our monitoring, evaluation and learning across the organisation in line with our new strategy.

Hope for the Future is a climate change charity that trains communities, groups and individuals to work with politicians on climate change. Our vision is to see politicians of all political persuasions joining together with each other and with communities across the UK to drive inclusive action on the climate and nature crises.

We operate nationally at a grassroots level, linking constituents with their elected representatives, running training and holding events.

We are currently seeking a Director of Delivery to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

You will have specific responsibility for:

• Growing HFTF’s impact, leading and overseeing the delivery of HFTF’s delivery projects and programmes and working with staff to ensure delivery targets are met

• Effective line management of the Policy & Engagement Officers, leading, supporting, managing and motivating staff,

• Supporting the Policy and Engagement team with work as required 

• Developing and overseeing the monitoring and evaluation and impact measurement for fundraising bids and reports to funders.

• Acting as the lead contact for Hope for the Future’s network of partner organisations growing  HFTF’s paid partnership work

• Ensuring that we are engaging new constituents and that we are working towards reaching and representing all sectors of society.

Other responsibilities

• Regularly travel around the country to workshops and meetings and to the head office in Sheffield.

• Networking to seek new partners and clients for the purpose of acquiring new training requests and potential collaborative work (paid partnerships)

• Representing the organisation at events,conferences, and partnership meetings and in external communications

• Continually championing the values, mission and vision of Hope for the Future to strengthen democratic engagement and drive inclusive action on the climate and nature crises.

• Maintain an awareness of advances in the climate and nature movement and national/ local politics.

• Maintain a strong working knowledge of climate change developments in Parliament, including changes to policy and specific MP involvement in such developments.

The ideal candidate will have

• Excellent organisational , prioritisation  and communication skills 

• A high level of autonomy and self-motivation, with an ability to think independently and solve problems proactively

• Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills across a range of professional and community settings

• Strong IT skills, understanding of digital communications, analysis of data and creating reports.

• Strong multidisciplinary project, programme and resource management skills with the ability to ensure delivery targets are achieved.

• Minimum 2 - 3 years in a management, leadership or operational delivery role within a not-for-profit, NGO, social enterprise, charity or similar organisation.

• Experience and success in leading, supporting, motivating and managing and coordinating a team  to work towards delivering an organisation's strategic goals

• Experience in building and maintaining effective partnerships and networks with external organisations.

• A strong working knowledge of the UK political system and with national and local political structures and processes

• Experience of working with elected representatives 

• Experience of delivering, monitoring and evaluating effective community engagement campaigns / outreach work

• Experience of designing and facilitating workshops, trainings, both online and in-person 

• An understanding of monitoring and evaluation and impact measurement 

• Ability to seamlessly operate at a strategic and tactical level, leading by example and rolling up sleeves when necessary

Location: Baca office, Loughborough, England with regular travel to Cambridge and locations where Baca’s services are delivered

Overall purpose

Provide strategic financial leadership for Baca and be accountable for the provision of financial and performance information to enable the Leadership Team and the Board to ensure Baca is financially sustainable for the purpose of achieving its vision and mission.

Core skill will be as a qualified accountant but you will demonstrate a range of experience leading teams and delivering a range of projects across the organisation using a joint working approach. As a member of the Leadership Team, you will work alongside other senior leaders to shape the strategic direction of the charity and ensure that its aims and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Resource Planning, Budgeting and Reporting

• To direct Baca annual budget setting and longer term strategic financial planning, with robust analysis of income, expenditure, forecasts and cashflow.
• To deliver high quality financial reporting, providing advice and support, in writing and verbally, as required for the Leadership Team, the Finance and Fundraising sub-group and the Board of Trustees.
• To ensure budget holders receive up to date timely and accurate management accounts and information in order to maintain day to day control of the expenditure budget.
• Encouraging innovation and seeking best practice from inside and outside the sector.
• Identifying and responding to long-term strategic risks, challenges and opportunities to enable Baca achieving its Strategic Goals.
• Continually enhance the processes and procedures in place for resource allocation and monitoring at all levels of the charity
• Provide proactive assessment of opportunities to deliver efficiencies in collaboration with departments where necessary.

Leadership and Organisational Responsibilities

• As a member of the Leadership Team (LT), be a role model in practicing Baca’s values in order to achieve our Vision and Mission, prioritising the outcomes of the young people in all activities of the role.
• Together with the CEO, ensure all members of work with the Finance and Fundraising sub-group are regularly informed of all key strategic activity by leading the executive input and support to the Finance and Fundraising sub-group.
• Support the CEO to undertake negotiations with other organisations where necessary on matters of securing of resources.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with internal policy and procedures alongside external requirements of Charity Commission and Companies House.
• Undertake and deliver in the role as Company Secretary
• Steward Baca’s resources to effectively, economically and efficiently to achieve our Vision and Mission in line with our Values.
• Communicate effectively, internally and externally, ensuring accurate and efficient flow of information across the organisation ensuring finance plans are understood and supported by all involved with the organisation.
• Lead on financial aspects of subsidiary businesses if relevant
• Work at all times within the policies and procedures of Baca
• Respect at all times the confidentiality of information covering young people, staff and volunteers.
• Play an active part in the development and maintenance of good relationships with all who have business with Baca.
• Be proactive and willing to undertake other duties to help maintain our high standard of support and responsibility towards the young people we serve.

Financial Systems, Control and Accounting

• Oversee the integrity of all financial systems: Develop, monitor and manage the organisation’s financial systems, policies, procedures and internal controls and the development of a consistent approach across Baca.
• To lead the preparation of the organisation’s accounts for audit in accordance with current accounting good practice and Charity Commission’s Standards of Recommended Practice (SORP), liaising with the auditors and present the final accounts to the Finance and Fundraising sub-group and Board for approval.
• To be responsible for adhering to financial delegated authorities as agreed with the Chief Executive and Board.
• To implement, oversee and review Baca’s systems of financial risk management and controls assurance.
• To ensure the purchasing system operates effectively, ensuring sufficient supplies and services by working closely with the Operations Director.
• To lead the payroll provision and ensure that salary and related payments are made accurately and timely.
• To ensure that an appropriate register of assets are maintained accurately.
• To ensure that Baca has adequate cash holdings and cash is moved to interest bearing accounts as appropriate in line with Baca’s ethical asset management policy.

Team and People Management:

• Create, lead, manage, inspire and develop the finance team promoting Baca’s values by being visible, participative and encouraging cross team working
• Effectively manage the performance of the team, ensuring they are working to agreed objectives, delivering outcomes and that they receive appropriate training and support.
• Support theteam in day to day troubleshooting and administration where necessary.
• Develop and deliver integrated annual strategic objectives for all direct reports and their teams
• To keep abreast of legislation affecting financial accounting, that may be relevant to Baca, and to keep the Chief Executive fully aware of any relevant changes in the law.

• To maintain and increase personal professional skills.

Deputy Service Director

We are looking for a Deputy Services Director to support a cluster of Area Managers across England and Wales.

This role is home based, with regular travel across the regions.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Flexibility is possible, but likely to be required to meet core hours across Monday to Friday)

The Role

This role is home-based, regular travel and some unsocial hours will be necessary.  As a Deputy Service Director, you will:

• Support the Services Director to manage services across England and Wales
• Represent the charity externally, promoting a positive image of the organisation
• Identify and promote opportunities to grow and develop the services in order to improve reach and impact
• Monitor, develop and advance the approach to excellence, ensuring teams work to the highest quality standards
• Take the lead in developing the skills and expertise of the Operations Managers and further advancing excellent standard of casework
• Lead on income generation in allocated areas
• Promote advocacy for service users, ensuring that they are involved in the development of services and their needs are heard and understood
