The Board of Trustees of All We Can is currently seeking new Trustees from a range of diverse backgrounds, skills and experience, especially as they relate to the areas of Public Engagement and Governance. Your contribution will help have a direct impact on our transformational work to end poverty and injustice all around the world.

All We Can is an international development and relief organisation. All We Can works through partnership alongside our global neighbours most impacted by disasters, poverty and injustice to enable flourishing and resilient communities. Rooted in the Christian faith, it is an open and inclusive movement for change, for all people. It is the relief and development agency of the Methodist Church.

All We Can has recently launched an ambitious five-year strategic plan covering 2020 - 2025, and to support this, the organisation’s governance requires strengthening, needing to be highly effective and far-sighted in outlook and to provide the right balance between challenge, championing and support. As part of the Board of Trustees, you will help govern All We Can in line with its charitable objectives and to maintain oversight of the organisation’s financial affairs on behalf of the Board.

We are specifically eager to receive expressions of interest from people who identify as black, indigenous or people of colour. We also specifically welcome those who are looking to use their potential in support of our cause, as first-time Trustees. Candidates do not need to be Christian or specifically Methodist, however they must have an understanding and supportive acceptance of All We Can as a movement rooted in the Christian faith. We welcome a wide range of expertise, experience and perspectives in the governance and oversight of All We Can as a professional faith-based organisation.

Your experience and skill in any of the following areas related to Public Engagement & Governance, will be of interest and advantage:

  • Building digital communities and using digital for growth
  • Major Donor relationship and digital fundraising
  • Youth and 18-25 engagement with third sector through digital
  • Policy, influencing or campaigning
  • Good governance, best practice and legislative compliance for charities


Candidates will need to be able to commit at least six half-day meetings a year and one full day meeting a year (which includes three daytime Board meetings in London and four committee meetings either in person or by video conference. Trustees are all volunteers, though expenses are reimbursed. Trustees must be resident within the United Kingdom.
