Job Description


  • Work with the Senior Fundraiser and other departments where appropriate to increase income streams.
  • Develop and attend fundraising events
  • Develop digital fundraising campaigns
  • Develop a supporter journey strategy
  • Identify new sources of funding
  • Work with the Senior Fundraiser and feedback on progress against fundraising strategies and targets
  • Work with the Communications Officer to promote fundraising initiatives and increase awareness of ADSS’s charitable status and ensure consistency between on and offline activity
  • Develop relationships with donors, corporates and community fundraising
  • Develop and implement a regular giving programme
  • Promote Legacy and In Memoriam

Budget and targets:

  • Plan and accurately record individual fundraising activity and spend within agreed budgets
  • Meet individual and departmental fundraising targets


  • Maintain and manage a fundraising database
  • Use supporter data to maximise fundraising opportunities, record activity and evaluate campaigns
  • Work within data protection legislation and fundraising code of practice at all times


  • Undertake specific projects as requested by the Senior Fundraiser
  • To keep up to date with developments in the industry as they relate to a fundraising role, and to contribute to the overall development of the fundraising department
  • To be an advocate for ADSS by promoting our vision, mission and values as well as attending meetings and events as required
  • To actively comply with all working policies and procedures
  • Carry out any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post
  • Occasional weekend and evening working
  • The job description for this position may be reviewed and amended to incorporate the future needs of the department and ADSS.

Candidates should essentially have:

  • Great people skills.
  • Full driving Licence and access to a car.
  • Be able to embrace "hybrid working" - from the office.
  • Have experience of fundraising in the charity sector.
  • Be able to show successful completion of relevant educational courses.
  • Have experience of working in a fast paced team, managing multiple projects to tight deadlines and budgets and reaching fundraising targets.
  • Have experience of using CRM systems to analyse fundraising data.
  • Have experience running a digital fundraising campaign.
  • Have a good working knowledge of data protection legislation and the impact of GDPR and PECR on fundraising activity.
  • Have excellent working knowledge of social media for fundraising activities.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of working with volunteers.
  • Have strong IT skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite in particular Excel and Word.
  • Have experience of working with external partners and supporters to fulfil all aspects of a fundraising campaign.


  • Hold a certificate in Fundraising or other related qualification.
  • Be a logical, organized planner with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Have experience of using salesforce CRM for fundraising.
  • Be able to identify engagement opportunities throughout the customer journey.
  • Have experience of using plain english and working within a company's brand guidelines.
  • Management of volunteers.
  • Experience of developing fundraising and supporter events. 

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £22,308 to £24,960 per annum depending upon experience. 

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff are required to wear a face mask whilst moving around the office environment to protect colleagues and the people we support. Desks are regularly cleaned and sanitised and covid vaccinations are required due to the nature of our business.
