Working Hours: 35 per week

About the role

As a Legacy Giving Officer, you will be promoting the importance of Gifts in Wills to our most committed supporters and our fantastic staff right across Northern Ireland.

Legacy fundraising is being recognised as a top priority at Alzheimer’s Society – having been absolutely critical for the charity to continue our work through the pandemic.

This is a fast paced role which combines providing first class stewardship, collaborating on strategic projects and event management and delivery. Always putting the supporter at the heart of the work that we do.

You will:

- Be responsible for the planning, organisation and delivery of exclusive face to face and virtual events for some of the Society’s warmest supporters.
- Have ownership of all of the Legacy enquiries and activity across Northern Ireland whilst working closely with a geographically dispersed team based throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland
- Build long lasting, strong relationships with individuals who have made the incredibly generous decision to support Alzheimer’s Society with a gift in their Will.
- Develop and implement new regional opportunities to promote our exciting offers to both new and existing Society supporters.
- Become the go to Legacy expert amongst your regional colleagues. Provide regular updates about the significance of Gifts in Wills and increase your colleague’s awareness of their power.
- Play an essential role in helping to support our wider fundraising strategy.

About you

We are searching for an ambitious and passionate individual who would like to join a welcoming and supportive team of Legacy fundraisers.

Gifts in Wills fund over 25% of all Alzheimer’s Society’s work – so your work in our team will be crucial for securing the charity’s future income.

These gifts are a fundamental part of the entire organisation. Without them we could not provide information and support, improve care, fund research, or tackle injustices in the system so that nobody has to face dementia alone.

- You may not be an experienced fundraiser but you must be an outstanding relationship builder and negotiator.
- You may have experience in fundraising, sales or account management however it is vital that you are experienced in regularly exceeding targets.
- You are confident with verbal, written and presentation skills. Excellent communication will be a huge part of this role.
- You could be eager for an opportunity to expand your experience and develop in fundraising and have an interest in becoming a trusted Legacy expert.
- You are empathetic yet resilient and looking for the next step in your career to be highly rewarding.
- You are a compassionate person who is motivated by our cause and the desire to see change for people affected by dementia.
