About the role:

Every day across Alzheimer’s Society, our people tell our story: to someone with dementia; to a commissioner; to a funder; to a researcher; to a politician; to a volunteer. We need people to unite against dementia if we are to achieve the ambitious aims of the New Deal on Dementia. Our mission will succeed only if we galvanise a movement against dementia.

Have you got what it takes to build on our success so far in making dementia the issue of our time? Then we can promise you a stimulating and varied role in an award-winning team in our busy national office in central London. The successful candidate will spot proactive opportunities daily to frame, provoke and sustain the dialogue on dementia, ensuring it is seen and discussed as a major global 21st century issue, and that we are the go-to thought leader. You will devise and execute creative, integrated campaigns that advocate the rights of people with dementia, change public policy and galvanise people to join with us as part of a social movement for change. Your campaigns will also better ensure Alzheimer’s Society is known for funding research into the cause, cure, care and prevention of dementia.

About you:

You will possess a great news sense, a flair for placing stories that build an evidence-based narrative, and the ability to jump on and maximise opportunities in the media. You must have experience of working with the national media, excellent communication skills, an understanding of the political environment, and the desire to work in a fast-paced team committed to making a difference.

Alzheimer’s Society is committed to equal opportunities.

You may have experience of the following: Media Officer, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, PR, Public Relations, Campaign Management, Marcoms, Marketing Communications, Press Officer, Journalist, Journalism, Voluntary Sector etc.
