Job description
Reporting Analyst

Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.

Reporting Analyst Responsibilities:

The Reporting Analyst in our Supporter Data team will play a transformative role in turning raw data into informative reporting for internal and external audiences. Ranging from operational reporting to keep day to day activities running, to management dashboards, to KPI tracking, and some forecasting, this role will be at the core of providing the information required for the organisation, and in particular users of our Fundraising, Research & Influencing, and Marketing & Communications data, to be evidence based.

This role sits at the core of information provision for the organisation’s evidence-based decision making. By surfacing useful information otherwise hidden in Fundraising systems or systems used in Research and Influencing, or Marketing and Communications and other datasets, this role will develop and maintain core sets of standardised reporting as well as respond to ad hoc requests. Responsibilities also include defining and enforcing reporting definitions.

Reporting Analyst Requirements:

You will combine a number of skills in order to deliver value adding reporting to the business.

You will bring excellent business partnering skills to understand business contexts, goals, ambitions and horizons. Building the trust between you and those you partner will be a major factor is how successful the business will be in its use of reporting. Your strong interpersonal and interpretation skills will allow you to have open jargon-free conversations with the business. You can formulate emerging requirements through providing advice and co-creation.

You will have strong technical abilities including data manipulations, data visualisation, dashboard designing, UX skills, SQL as well as other desirable skills such as R and GIS to create engaging reports which allow users to instantly and intuitively understand complex datasets. You will also be able to employ Agile development techniques to rapidly produce prototypes and minimal viable products whilst accommodating a continuous improvement mindset.

You will have experience of strong governance to ensure reporting definitions remain stable between reports and prevent future problems with dissonant reporting. You know when to push back against overly bespoke reports whilst still providing the reporting solutions people need.

About Alzheimer’s Society:

Alzheimer’s Society embraces diversity, inclusion and accessibility for all of our people. We are committed to building a diverse organisation that represents the communities we serve and ensuring inclusion in everything we do.
