AMAT have been ever present in the homeless sector offering supported accommodation to the people in Kent and we are looking to recruit into our team with the addition of Senior Manager of Core Functions.
The hours for this position are 37.5 per week, and this position is a hybrid role with some days working from home and some working from our office in Chatham. At AMAT, we are focused on delivering the best service we can to our service users, and operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year service in order to achieve this. As such, you may be required to work bank holidays, and flexibility is key to this role “Be One Team” is one of the fundamental expectations of staff.
Reporting directly to the CEO this role is varied and ideal for someone looking for challenges within and beyond finance. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills and able to bring fresh ideas to the table. The candidate will be a fully qualified CIMA associate or equivalent, ACCA, ACA with excellent IT skills generally, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills and excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Previous experience in the charitable sector, Human Resources, Housing Benefits, GDPR and experience with Sage 200 would be desirable but is not essential. It is also essential that you are passionate about homelessness as a cause, and about empowering homeless and vulnerable people to achieve sustainable independence, wellbeing and make positive changes in their lives.
You will be responsible for:
Management of all finances, including, but not limited to:
Preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
Budgeting and Forecasting
Variance analysis and reporting
Quarterly VAT tax return
Lead on annual external audit
Assist in the preparation of company financial statutory accounts
Implementation and maintenance of organization financial controls
Maintenance of the cashflow
Liaising with and being the financial/AMAT representative for auditor, banks, tax partners, Local Authority, insurers, etc.
Management of Core functions including but not limited to:
Overseeing the managing of core functions in the organisation, including Human Resources, Housing Benefit and Quality and Compliance
Presenting at relevant meetings (including bi-monthly trustee meetings)
Actively contributing to AMATs business strategy
Assisting CEO with returns to Companies House and Charity Commission
Direct responsibility for a team of five including three managers
