Job description

We are looking for a Researcher/Adviser to join our Refugee and Migrant Rights Team.

The post sits in our Global Issues Programme and is part of a dynamic team that is both leading research on and developing solutions for the challenges faced by refugees and migrants globally. In this role you will work to ensure that states respect the rights of refugees and migrants in countries of transit and destination.

You will design and lead desk and field research to uncover ongoing human rights violations. You will conduct advocacy and strategic litigation, engaging with international organisations, regional bodies and national governments. You will provide authoritative thematic support to the wider Amnesty International movement, applying your skills to legal analysis, progressive policy development and urgent life-saving interventions.

The role is based in London. Another location where the International Secretariat of Amnesty International has an office may be discussed (please see our worldwide office locations here: )

This is an exciting role for an engaging researcher and legal expert with at least three-five years of experience of working on human rights issues. Experience of strategic litigation in national and international fora is an asset.

You will be a talented human rights investigator, with extensive experience of researching refugee and migrant rights issues in the field. You will have in-depth specialist knowledge of international refugee law and international human rights law, developed as a practitioner or in academia. You will have an engaging and independent personality with political savvy and a keen strategic mind.
