Apprentice Plant Maintenance Engineer
Operations and Engineering, Haverhill, Suffolk
As we build our Haverhill Pilot Plant we are looking to hire an apprentice Plant Maintenance Engineer to join and learn within our growing team.
Your main duties will include:
- Supporting the Plant Engineer on maintenance, installations.
- Monitoring and commissions systems.
- Supporting the Plant Engineer on designing and implementing equipment modifications to help improve process improvements.
You will also be helping out the Manufacturing Engineering Department/ Pilot Plant Team.
The training you will be getting
- The learner will be studying the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
- Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.
- Training method and location to be confirmed.

This role is responsible for identifying and developing long term, multi-faceted corporate partnerships for Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust (DWCT). This new position in the fundraising team is to generate sustainable income for DWCT’s vision of a wilder, healthier, more colourful world and provide an opportunity for DWCT to raise its brand profile in the UK and further afield. This role is crucial in supporting the rewilding of the newly acquired Dalnacardoch estate in Scotland, while contributing to the overall fundraising goals of DWCT.
This role can be worked on site a our headquarters in Jersey or remotely from the UK dependent on a successful candidate.

Some knowledge of canine health and welfare and an understanding of human medical conditions as they relate to the canine partnership may be advantageous, but not essential. Ideally, you may have some experience in providing training or coaching. Most importantly, you will be passionate about the transformative impact that our assistance dogs provide to our beneficiaries.

This role covers a specified geographical location in the Southwest of England - Cornwall and Devon. The hours are ad hoc, as and when required in line with our visit schedule. Visits are carried out by phone call, virtually (online via video call) and some travel will be required for face-to-face visits. It is essential that you have a driving licence and an appropriate vehicle for work purposes or the ability to travel in line with the requirements of the role.
As part of the onboarding process, you will be provided with training in the Devon/Cornwall area or in the Sussex/Surrey area for a minimum of 1 week.
