We’re Anthony Nolan and we save the lives of people with blood cancer who need a stem cell transplant.
We’re unique. Thanks to the incredible donors on our register, our pioneering research and our passionate fundraisers, we give the chance of life to three people a day.
But we won’t stop there. We want to be there for everyone who needs a transplant; from finding a match, through every step of a patient’s transplant journey. And together we can reach the remarkable day when we can save the lives of everyone with blood cancer.
And now we want you to join our lifesaving team. We are looking for an inspirational leader to challenge the status quo and drive our ambition to become an exemplar of inclusivity, diversity and involvement.
Title: Director of Inclusion, Diversity and Involvement
Salary: circa £70,000
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: Flexible, with travel to our Head Office in Hampstead, London
Blood cancer doesn’t discriminate, and nor should the cure. We know that health inequalities exist, and not all patients get the treatment and care they need. We are striving to right this wrong.
We also know that strength lies in inclusivity and diversity. We want to embed an ethos that celebrates diversity in all that we do. This means embracing different talents, experiences and ideas so that every member of our lifesaving team feels valued and respected. It means giving everyone the opportunity to flourish and realise their potential. And it means removing the barriers to inclusion so that all voices are heard, listed to and acted upon.
We’re proud of our diverse community of supporters. Whether they’re patients who have received or are waiting for a stem cell transplant; volunteer couriers who transport cells around the world to patients in need; lifesavers who join the donor register, or those who raise vital funds for our work – they all play their part in ensuring patients receive the treatment and care they need. We’re determined to involve members of our community in all aspects of our work, so that their ideas, experiences and energy propel us towards our vision. By involving our community, we will become a more inclusive and diverse organisation better equipped to meet the needs of all patients.
Realising our ambition to be a truly inclusive and diverse organisation, where every supporter has the opportunity to get involved, is a top priority for Anthony Nolan and it’s crucial to the achievement of our organisational strategy. We’ve started the conversation to understand what we need to do to truly embed diversity, inclusion and involvement in our culture, workforce, services and activities. We know there’s a lot more to do, and we’re committed to the exciting journey ahead.
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced change-maker to lead this vital work. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you’ll collaborate at all levels across and beyond the organisation to define and champion our inclusion, diversity and involvement vision and to design and deliver a transformative change programme that propels us towards its realisation.
For us, this role isn’t about box-ticking or optics. It’s about effecting real change that will have a lasting impact on our people and patients. This is an opportunity to make our vision a reality, and ultimately to ensure that all stem cell transplant patients receive the care and treatment they need.
