We’re Anthony Nolan and we save the lives of people with blood cancer who need a stem cell transplant.
We’re unique. Thanks to the incredible donors on our register, our pioneering research and our passionate fundraisers, we give the chance of life to three people a day.
But we won’t stop there. We want to be there for everyone who needs a transplant; from finding a match, through every step of a patient’s transplant journey. And together we can reach the remarkable day when we can save the lives of everyone with blood cancer.
And now we want you to join our lifesaving team. We are looking for a Special Events Intern to join our fundraising team for 12 weeks to help deliver the Daisy Ball - Anthony Nolan’s largest special event.
Title: Special Events Intern
Salary: London Living Wage (£19,565 per annum)
Contract: 12-week fixed term
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: Hampstead, North London
Daisy Ball 2020 takes place on Saturday 6 June in London and will welcome around 450 people including trustees, corporate partners, celebrities, sponsors, high value individuals and their families for an evening full of entertainment.
As well as raising significant income for the charity, the event allows us to engage and cultivate high value supporters and raise awareness of our work.
As someone who is passionate about fundraising events you will assist with the administration and logistics tasks for the event, as well as supporting ticket sales, guest communication and delegate management.
With your excellent interpersonal and communication skills you will also help deliver key fundraising aspects of the event by sourcing gift-in-kind prizes for the luxury raffle and silent auction.
This is a busy time so you will need to demonstrate that you are a proactive and flexible individual who works well under pressure and can prioritise work to meet deadlines.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in the special events sector and would suit a recent graduate with experience of even management or someone looking to move into the special events sector from another event or charity role.
This role runs from the end of March to mid-June to allow you to support and gain experience in all aspects of the event, including the crucial post-event work. To apply for this role, you must be available to work in this time period and on the weekend of the event itself (6 June). Time off will be restricted around the event.
Together, we can save lives. Join our team and give someone a chance of life.
