Fundraising Officer

 

Salary scale: £23,000 - £30,000, depending on experience

20 Hours per week, pro rata

Ardgowan Hospice

Ardgowan Hospice is the local hospice in Inverclyde (population approx. 80,000) and has been in operation since 1981.  Each year we care for around 1,000 patients diagnosed with a life-limiting illness such as cancer, heart failure, lung disease, kidney failure or neurological conditions as well as their families.  Support ranges from end of life care, pain management and bereavement support to helping patients return to work after an illness.

Our philosophy is to work together as a multi-disciplinary team helping to maximise quality of life by reducing physical and psychological symptom burden of an increasingly infirm patient group with a higher prevalence of co-morbidity.  Overarching this we have a small senior management team made up of the CEO, Director of Care, Head of Corporate Development and Head of Finance who support and oversee the care management and delivery of our services to our community.

This is an exciting time to join the hospice as the fundraising team is expanding, with ambitious goals to raise the vital funds needed to be able to deliver our aims, of which the new candidate will be a part.

As well as a competitive salary, new starters will have 25 days annual leave (+ bank holidays), pension contribution (optional) and training opportunities.

Job Description

Ardgowan Hospice is seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to join our small and effective fundraising team.

The successful candidate will develop, manage and deliver a successful and sustainable Fundraising Plan that achieves reliable income through an annual programme of fundraising activities from a variety of sources.

The role requires experience of using databases, with particular knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, and the ability to collate and analyse data and produce reports of a routine and non-routine variety.  Experience of undertaking fundraising research and delivering high levels of donor/supporter care are also essential.

Candidates will ideally have at least 2 years fundraising experience including use of fundraising data bases and donor stewardship.
